Can I stick my nose in please - some of your birds have been reported in Whitby and Scarborough - both of these have North Road Clubs as well as South Road, North Road were at Whitley Bay on Saturday, they did not have good returns, I know some Scarborough birds have been reported in Scotland, however I do not know the time of liberation of the North Road birds.

  5. You would have thought those members timing in would limit themselves - the other members will leave or join other clubs
  6. Dave - have Deerness valley and Gateshead fed youngsters in - no race rubbers 2 scottish pigeons - one I have phoned, and this will be fed and watered and released in Newcastle later in the week- furthest north we can get it to, but I'm short of space...!! Only have 3 boxes.......

  10. So that means chucking the bird out then - thats my interpretation, and I don't think its approriate. Rules don't appear to be standardised. :-/

  15. This little hen was our 2nd bird back from 1st young bird race - clocked 21 seconds after our first - and she was 12th club - 488 birds (1st bird was 7th club)
  16. 100% returns for me - but also have a stray in from Grimsby - from the Huntingdon race today - they shouldn't have clashed - maybe this one just forgot to put the brakes on (Huntingdon is 160 miles to me )

  18. UNC at Pontefract and Bubwith -Selby not yet liberated, but think it might be due to North Roaders being liberated at Whitby and Seaham - anybody know lib times for them ?

    Anything is possible, if we are talking same liberation, different clubs it has happened in our section where birds flying 52 miles were flying 100+ yards per minute faster than another club flying 56 miles

  24. I thought young bird sickness was a virus ? In which case antibiotics surely won't work ( I am a novice so can't make any suggestions sorry) Have used amoxycillin in the past and looking at the label its 40g in 100g (40%) and the dose was 5g to a litre. But if you don't know what you are treating for don't use it as you could make things worse. Test droppings for cocci and worms first, you should be able to see the worm eggs and oocysts at 100x and 400x magnification
