  4. A lot seemed to have been timed in - so who knows, if the rumours are correct and the combine topper is on 1316 - we're 49 ypm behind. We certainly haven't topped the fed :'( but our names on the combine sheet would be wonderful ;D ;D ;D ;D We have 4 back of the 5 sent, and our club winner was a yearling - and who knows if the plants worked...! Perhaps they did - didn't seem to have done them any harm anyway ! ;D
  5. :B :B :B Thank you ;D ;D ;D and thank you to clockman for giving me advice when I was panicking before basketting the birds :K) :K)
  6. UNC CLERMONT LIBERATED 6.45 AM WEST WIND Good Luck to everybody racing today
  7. Yesterday she was running round without a limp at all, so I am pleased about that. Luckily the broken ankle was the one without her ring number on, the swelling she had may have meant it would have had to be cut off. I have never seen a broken leg on a pigeon before. I shall know better if there is a 'next' time.
  8. Looks like WDA are at Arras
  9. UNC Clermont - held over
  10. Redcar - heavy rain at 7.30am
  11. No Ted- I'm suitably remonstrated :B :B :B :K) :K) :K) :K) :X :X :X :X I thought it was funny though (its Friday.....yesssssss ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D)
  12. The cocks start wearing lipstick and high heels ;D ;D ;D ;D

  15. I totally agree, thank you Kaz :K)
  16. You've confused me Bruno, 'leg' was broken just above the toes where they intersect. Took the splints and micropore off at 6.00pm tonight and she is fine, atleast her foot isn't 'dangling' any more....!!! After splinting it we were told a few days later we should have let it heal naturally as she would have held it aloft anyway, but having bound it up already felt it would not be in her best interests to remove this for fear of complications. She is a lovely little hen. Bless...!!!
  17. I used the middle section of a cotton bud cut up - it was hollow like a drinking straw - bound round with micropore tape - not tight
  18. We have overhead telephone cables in the road - and the cables are then strung between each house - mine included, in this day and age, you would think these things could be hidden underground- no improvements now things have been privatised, and thats another topic.......................
  19. Kev - take note of the thread - RACING THIS WEEKEND 22/07/06 , Southampton Fed at Eastbourne ...?? ( not all races are put in the British Homing World)
  20. For the 29th, the nearest I can see - 4 libs at Kingsdown, 1 at Stoneleigh. Theres also one at Stoneleigh on Wednesday 26th - no time, Littlehampton also Wed - it says 16.00 hrs
  21. UNC are at Clermont
  22. Thank you for all your comments - cos i've attached the splints with micropore - we're going to remove them over the weekend when there is plenty of time to spare! She doesn't hang her leg in flight, I have had her out a few times on her own so I could have a good look. The limp is also less pronounced now - but she still has one. Thank you for all your comments and advice. And Hyacinth - it would bee nice to have the same bird score more than once in a season - that hasn't happened yet ! (though we have had a few birds scoring once in successive seasons)
  23. The procedure would be, that the owner would be contacted - there should be a telephone number stamped on the wing, and then the owner should arrange for Amtrak to pick the bird up to return it home - unless he's local enough to pick it up
  24. Well Done Kaz
  25. I wasn't being sarcastic - I am a novice myself - and didn't really know and nobody was coming to the rescue - I also had to go out
