We have 50 birds, hormoform, one heaped teaspoon each twice a week - except during the moult its every other day, down to the last of the bag now, will probably need a new one before Xmas !!
-
I buy the shops own conditioning mix - about £11, Redband about £16 I think - but you can get smaller bags - smaller the bag more expensive it works out at in the long run. Same as Hormoform - buy the huge bag, lasts us all year and is about £25 at the corn store ( RRP is about £33 I think )

I don't know about anyone else, but where I live fireworks go off all the time not just November 5th, there has been fireworks every night this week, and whenever someone has a birthday, Christmas, New Year - any excuse for fireworks - certainly a lot more often than some people get the drinks in :P ;D ;D ;D So can't do anything about it

Quote from me : Stall traps have been in use for a very long time and would allow anyone, disabled or otherwise to time in on an equal basis if they excercised their "choice" to install them that is not true, you don't have to be in a wheelchair to be disabled - there are plenty of other disabilities that are a handicap - believe you me I know, and I for one was only able to see the arrivals from two or three races this season as I was otherwise incapacitated - so anyone with a similar disability would have no chance of timing in manually. A disability is and I quote from Peter Bryant: Under the Act a person has a disability “if he has a physical or mental impairment which has a substantial and long term adverse effect on his ability to carry out normal day-to-day activities”. So, you don’t just have to be in a wheelchair, or be an orange badge holder etc. Disability is as broad as it is long. and that covers a hell of a lot of chronic illnesses that impact on day to day living

Think you got out of the wrong side of the bed today ( and yesterday and the day before............) are you always argumentative ? The disability discrimination act is not going to go away. Derbys Lad's post was a good one, I once timed my husband, how long it took him to time a bird in on open door, it was more than 20 seconds - he was very surprised how slow he was, he thought it would be 10 seconds tops, and we have lost a few races by less than 5 seconds - he wouldn't however want to use ETS, but that is his choice - and thats what its all about - having the option.

the fifer doesn't know his right from his left............... its on the right hand side - right of the 'quote' button as you look at the screen, you 'click' on it, and you get the option of objecting to that message or the whole thread, and put your reasons why. when it is somebody elses post you only see quote and report 'buttons'

Why would you think cutting the feed back would stop them pairing up ( its out of curiosity ) and like pault - we're still knee deep in feathers with none fully moulted out yet.

There have been some particularly offensive posts of late - and by that I mean swearing and explicit sexual innuendo - which is just not on - your political debates are a bore to me - and I don't read them when you all 'go off on one', when personal attacks are made on the forum - I also think that is a no, no - its not the place is it ? Some of you do know each other, I don't know any of you, but there are potentially millions of people out there who can access this site to look at whats going on - and sometimes the minority are extremely 'unprofessional' in their writings. Just my views - there is a report button on each message - and I have used it....!!!! :P

one always wonders if some information is put on these sites with malicious intent, certainly the information I saw referring to this some time ago mentioned blue lupin seeds specifically - but I would never use lupin seeds knowing that they were poisonous to children anyway. Sunflower seeds are probably similar in fat content and very safe for both humans and pigeons - so why take any risks. THank you Shadow for confirming they were poisonous
-
I have read that also - but I was always lead to believe that lupin seeds were poisonous
-
Very disappointing wasn't it ? 15 years studying pigeons................ : : :

That was Brooklands national - the winning velocity was 1754.17 2nd was 58 ypm behind ( out of 20,221 birds )

NEHU rings are 1 year behind GB rings, so our next colour is yellow ( I presume anyway) our 2006 rings were pink. There are several colours - our 2003 rings were a pewter colour, I have also seen red and white rings on old pigeons, I haven't seen the colours repeated ( but have not kept pigeons for that long ) This years scottish birds had purple rings, maybe the GB rings are a year behind them ;D

No response ? Have you thought about moving somewhere else ? ;D
