It's a mealy ,belongs to my mate Matt Luke , he will watch out for it ,he said thanks ,will post up if it gets home .
  2. Glasgow and south Lanarkshire up at 7-15. Lt. s,west wind high broken cloud and blue sky,s .
  3. Just spoke to our convoyer who incidentally used to do it for the mighty boys , and guess what he said , birds don't clear well from this point (Newark) they seem to go away and come back seen it many a time , this is his first year with us , so it must have been when he was with the MIGHTY biggest fed in the land .
  4. Geo did youse not race from Newark a few seasons back ? If so you would have distances . I'm sure youse race from there before .
  5. Excuse me sir , I've been asked since otterburn if Ayrshire could lib along with us , I told your guy no as it was too short a race ,I told him there was no problem once we go over 200 miles . Going from a shorter race your bird would go in a different line , so don't blame anyone for youse having to lib on your own , we ended up along with south Lanark from otterburn as we had baskets on their transporter. , not my idea , and not too happy about going together so soon , but hey nothing could be done . OH and I've been told by an Ayrshire member about your birds circling race points for a while , his opinion is the transporter is crap and birds can't see until they open up fronts and its out of the dark into the light sort of thing . His words not mine . We were all going to lib together this week from Retford no probs at all . I've got to look after Glasgow fed birds first and foremost and what's best for us I'm not interested in Ayrshire fed youse can look after your own birds and race . And sorry again TAM
  6. Aye wullie Glasgow this and Glasgow that , but no mention of the work done behind the scene yesterday by Gordon ,after finding out there was a problem with Retford , first thing he done was contact all others that where going to Retford .then trying to get an alternative , for everyone not just Glasgow ??.
  7. I don't have a say in it Andrew . I'm not on committee . I think with the time they realised there was a problem with access to lib site at Retford , and the rpra recommending the nearest race point , it was hoped that we would all go to Newark . .me I would have went to Doncaster .
  8. I agree about Newark Tommy , it has been said about birds refusing to leave lib site for whatever reason ?
  9. I've been on phone since before 7am this morning ,to Davie young before he headed to work , about a 24 hr delay , I always leave it till after 1-30 for latest update from met office ,in case weather changes , then when I got text about Newark , I phoned Davie to tell him , Gordon geddes had already spoke to jim Cullen about the problem at Retford , rpra recommended Newark (the nearest race point) so Gordon booked it , then larnarkshire find they don't have measurements for Newark , plus think they looked at the jump. And it was better two small jumps than a big one .So they then decided to go to wetherby instead . This is fact no stories or hearsay . Thanks and good luck to all And correct about changing days for racing . We change from sat to sun ,so why not sat to Friday . Although Glasgow did this a few years back with great success ,it was changed at next AGM , as the dinosaurs felt we always race at weekends . .SORRY TAM for posting on lanarkshires forum .
  10. Your so misinformed mate , think last week we had 16 on their lorry , s, Lanark do not pull our string 1000%
  11. It's a no brainier Tommy , of course they are at Newark we go together some of our over spill go on their transporter , oh and it was the rpra who recommended Newark as an alternative to Retford , nearest race point , we were at wetherby last week so why would we go back to same race point ?
  12. Many happy returns lads . Have a great day .
  13. Already congratulated ally on phone yesterday ,and told him it was a fantastic performance ,might even top the fed , if so he deserves a medal . Well done pal .ps he text me yesterday saying I've one on loft the b@@ger won't come in , I first though that's good big man then I realised his distance and thought that could beat me then it was its beating me easily ,and told all the guys at checking they were the same until I told them about how many miles we give him ,it changed to WOW that's brilliant well done .

  19. Picked the bird up ,according to the vet it was fine with no injuries , so I picked it up and low and behold a hole in the back at rump feathers missing etc , so I asked them how did the vet miss this injury ? The girls at front desk looked gobsmaked . That's vets for you .they know nothing about our pigeons .
