Same here robert our AGM is Sunday at 3pm ,nothing controversial I'm sure , but would love a wee look at Gareth's birds see if something catches my eye . Sad loss to our once great sport .

I I agree 100% del. plenty of very good birds before haven't won a gold award for the very same reason , if this is allowed then they should look back and award them to all the others , which to me would make a mockery of the very prestigious award, not taking anything away from this top class bird but rules are rules I'm afraid .

I remember a wee guy from easthouses starting up a one loft race ,sickness ended his enterprise . Can't for the life of me remember his name ,he won the snrpc inland national with heart of Midlothian .

I agree with you rooster the more at the final race the better. If you pay a few quid to enter and end up way nothing at the final race you prob wouldn't send back the following year .so yes 100% location is prob the most important part of any OLR , along with integrity .

Got to agree with some on here about Ypres ,it's been a fantastic race since inception , but so has arras with our fed in conjunction with the snrpc.

A very good old friend that doesn't have pigeons now had a hen that every year during the winter months she took I'll with whatever ,the best breeding hen he ever had prob responsible for around 30/40 first prize winners . His name is Albert oribine one of the best fanciers ever through here and his hen was called 04 that was her last two digits on her ring , so ye wullie do your best to help her through. There just like us , if you listened to some on here more than half the population in the world would be put down .

Penrith was 114 miles to me and Appleby was 128 miles. Both were great race points , it was only once you got over the shap it went downhill returns wise .
