I. Only use these for the long races , and buy them from tesco or asda ,from the human consumption shelf along with peanuts very small bags of 100 g or so . I know it's dearer that way but I've been burnt before with mouldy seeds .

Just read the wullie Milen report by Tom Corrie ,here's another who used watties potion , he said his birds were sick ,then after using it his birds were back to normal in 2days.

Simple solution Andrew label the crates at inside ,tell all clubs to do this problem solved .

Baskets /crates would be labelled as to how many in each , so should be fed accordingly, I'm not talking of 10/crate 20 in a crate is fine . But the same crates take 28/30 earlier on in season which IMHO is way far too many .

Totally agree del less birds the better ,even when I go training I take an extra basket to give my birds more room , yet we get told to put in 27 in each crate at fed level . 24 is more than enough , but it's all to do with costs how many lorries go to race point .

Shavings blog up the watering system , but you can get a layer of easy bed on top of the card board , mines have been going in geraldy crates for 10 years now , once or twice I have had birds with their feet caked in sheite (hard )and one or two with tails the same .

True geo ,and some prob win or have won with /on it and saying nothing . I use it it doesn't make them win that's my job ,it IMHO does what it says on the bag. End of .

Ok everyone has an opinion , I did it the way I said ,oh and I work 6/7 days a week , I broke mine two weeks before the first old bird race and still won the federation old bird average . That year . I think if you had even let out 4/5 birds a day over weekend that would have been 8/10 then the same each weekend , not long before they were all broke with very few on roofs for nights at a time . Just back yesterday from holiday week in Jamaica and weeks cruise visiting Costa Rica /Panama/ and Cartagena and Santa Marta in Columbia , while in Cartagena loads of pigeons with feathers missing out wings tails out etc , then I seen the culprits Hawks everywhere I took pics of them on phone , on streets pavements car parks they were everywhere a bit smaller than Percy but bigger than female sparrow Hawks with simlar wing shape . Ps the holiday was brilliant with temps around 30' with one day 35'.

Stuart if it was me I would have had the broken ones out each day and let one out with them would be back at new location in no time following others , I've seen it on here a few times guys just opening loft and letting everything out ,nuts IMHO .
