  18. When I've used them, it's normally the day after the birds are paired up, so they are still shut in their nest boxes. Prevents them stressing with the smoke in the loft. I also put the baskets in the loft so they get the smoke treatment too.

  21. A good family of pigeons Mick. The McIvor birds did a bit of damage too, in the national races.

  23. John, I've had a small bottle here for years, sure I got it at the chemist.
  24. I've found gentian violet heals cuts / injuries to pigeons very quickly.
  25. I think 1984 was the first season where the SNFC imposed a 12 bird limit on it's members, certainly didn't affect Mr Newcombe. A 12 bird limit ... changed days now ?? The first open winner, "Festival Delorna" was Fife rung, bred by Jock McKinnon of Ladybank direct from his 1st open Falaise SNFC winner "Lorna McKinnon". The McKinnon team contained a lot of Dennis Dall blood with a cross of R & M Venner pigeons.
