A batch of Waxwings in the trees this morning.

There could be fanciers from Aberdeen area showing birds in Dundee at Logie RPC this Saturday ??

An exceptional fancier - he won the Lanarkshire Social Circle gold cup 3 times. His son, also Jim, that I referred to in my previous post took over the management of the loft after the death of his father, he too won the gold cup in LSC.

Not sure if Scotch Queen had Angus blood in her, but if I remember correctly, Jim Hamilton of Ferniegair bloodlines had an influence in her breeding.

Some exceptional pigeons featured in this book. Plate 39 - showing pigeons raced by Linden & Shaw, Wattstown - including red ch cock, "Red Hackle" 1st west section, 5th open SNFC Rennes, 1965. This pigeon was a grandson of Wull McCrae's [ Delboy's grandfather ] good Red Cock who was an outstanding club and channel performer, scoring 4 times from Rennes. The glory years of the SNFC !!

Pleased to say quite a few going about this morning - blackbirds,blue tits, chaffinch, robin, gold finch and lots of magpies. Never seem to see song thrushes now ?

Still the premier club for me too. It may be worth establishing, if the photographs have been sent to the BHW for inclusion in the report, or as John Quinn states, due to lack of space the BHW have chosen to omit them ?? Either way, this should be corrected to give the these successful fanciers the recognition they deserve imo.

George Dewar [ Dewar Brothers ] Ladybank did a similar thing, picking out the best beans to feed the channel pigeons - dedication right enough

Have you a photograph of the pigeon that won the section from Ypres ?

Definitely a good idea, would give fanciers wishing to score from the channel, an indication of the standards required. Imo.
