What was the reason for changing Eastbourne to Maidstone

They are not trying to change the sections only the regions which only apply to pools and averages. Dont think it will pass anyway but I would agree that Stirling should be in the west region. Whatever happens anyone on the "wrong" side of wherever the line is will be unhappy. Putting a tiny corner of the east neuk in a different region from the rest of Fife is plain daft. What about the North section where guys from Elgin to Inverness have little or no chance against Peterhead and Fraserborough

Agree it is impossible for a working man (or woman) to run a fed of this size. Surprised Gareth thinks £6000 is reasonable but doesnt think snfc is worth 18k with three times the membership. I am in a small fed compared to lanarkshire but we are lucky because our sec does it for nowt

Channel cock or hen ok because there wont be many entries but why 100 mile cock and hen in same class. Agree there must be a class missing. What does most likely to win mean anyway? Also in show classes why a separate class for birds bred before 2007. Hope it goes well as it used to be a good show

Angus Fed went there last season. No problems although one young bird race was the day every fed in the east of Scotland got hammered and they got the same. Not sure if you would get an artic in though

Why pair in December then put them on dark till June. Is it to benefit the old birds? I know a lot of successful fanciers who pair early February and darken till June.

Just a few points from the various posts There are not enough birds around capable of flying the gold cup and not enough fanciers willing to have a go. I know for a fact the majority of my club have no interest at all in going to the gold cup. Inland nationals are maybe not what the snfc was formed for but they are obviously what modern fanciers want. Eastbourne has no effect on the gold cup entry (certainly not in my area - the west may be different) Cant believe £26 per YEAR would stop someone joining the snfc. Extra prizemoney? Where does the money come from? Start dipping into the funds and it wont last long. If you want to win cash have confidence and pool your birds and if they are early enough you will win money.

if you are prepared to give it a chance and dont panic at the first bad race (give it at least 3 years) once your doos get a line they will be ok. yes there are bop but they are all over now. it will stop your doos dog legging as well. not just from the nationals from all races. and remember the 98% rule!!!

are you convoying other feds to sartilly or going in the back of a transit? would think most of the lf doos will be at ypres that weekend. obviously been well thought out fixing racepoints with no official site. however i think you are right to go west though. it will pay off in the long run
