Barley is and always has been a winter feed or added as a guide for keeping the birds weight down , my natural birds are on open hole and are fed 80/20 barley and they fly great and are in great order but as long as it does them no harm I will stick with it, another thread says beans are bad for them so lets all feed what we think is best .jmo.

Don't think it matters now where the race points are the losses can be disaster ,but I will send my birds to east ,west or anywhere and with the correct training they will be ok . The certificates are an embarrassment to the nat !

After seeing your picture on your loft report , good read , we have met at Kerr stainthorpe sale and we discussed what lots we were going for and you boldly told me not to go for the mealys as they were yours and you were right but I did get my 1st choice out of j Allen . I have just left the midland for Airdrie club pure and simple because they got in the Lanarkshire , but think the midland need to look at what matters most ,having £10,000 in bank or the members , jmo but I wish all my ex club members all the best because I have enjoyed being in Wattston / Caldercruix club

I raced roundabout last season and the birds flew well mostly (4 x1sts 3x2nds ) the first races I was getting 4or5together but I only ever time 2 in , but I found it hard to keep the cocks up forit for more than 2weeks and the end result was I never done as well at the races I really wanted to , I think it was a lot to do with work commitment as I can only exercise both sexes once per day and couldn't train them as knowbody here to get them in . So I think it will be natural this coming season as I am also mostly interested in the distance races .
