  1. Paired up every thing last week , the stock birds are still fighting like fook ,the yearlings are not really interested , the older racers are settled great , I put my best racing hen in stock loft she refuses to take to my chosen mate for her so lost the head and just opened all the boxes and let them do what they like and she has paired to 5 cocks so far !!!. This is no fun . :cry-blow:
  2. Thanks del , just compared deplomas from 2010 that's what brought it to mind .
  3. Are we getting replacement deploma,s or was that not mentioned at meeting.
  4. Joined Airdrie for the best interest of my birds !
  5. Think I was the only one from Wattston/ Caldercruix club and I am no there now .
  6. I bought an 8 yr old cock at Kerr stainthorpe sale he was the same ! It took him 4months. To get over the move to my loft , he is fine now and what a great pigeon out of j Allan symington.
  7. Thanks Andy , Great to see some of the names from the past, jock Reid was our arch rival in longniddry and flew a very good national pigeon .
  8. When does Andy leave the post ? And who do we send our membership to? And it would have made more sense to have it sorted before Agm to save confusion .
  9. It really was a great club and to win the club you had to be on your toes ,ask graham about Walter Douglas who lived at gabe sinclairs house what a doo man and character now sadly gone .
  10. Joe Hodgson was the man who gave me my first birds and gabe Sinclair was a future clubmate who told the story many times that he was having a wee tipple when he came oot and the mealy was walking on the grass ! How true I have no idea , great times when aberlady had great flyers at the distance, fairbairn,Sinclair, mcwatt bros ,tait,.and grieve brothers last maybe no so great lol.
  11. I am using ets for first time this year , I have cost my birds many positions because I have one of my lofts upstairs in garage and another in garden ,had 2 come together , 1 upstairs 1 in garden the hen that went in first ended up 5th club where the 2nd bird won the club because of the stairs I chose the other bird first. It's no contest for me ets is a must.jmo
  12. Bought a Chris Gordon hen at Blackpool that should go well with the southwells I have and hoping for a couple of Eric cannons ybs .
  13. That is one hell oh a pigeon mate , lucky sod .
  14. Trees are always a concern if there are many and too close ,prevents airflow to the loft . But one tree won't cause an issue. Same as others extend the brick building .
  15. Thanks del Always thought this would have to be done before Agm ,
  16. Who is the new secretary of the Snfc please.lol

  24. I asked 4world known fanciers at Blackpool about this product and sedachol and others ,2 used both named 1used 1 but all agreed they not sure if they work or not but if it does no harm it maybe does good lol.
  25. I have sat in the company of some great flyers when I was young, joe Hodgson Rennes winner 1955'gabe Sinclair 2nd same year ,mcwatt bros , Eddie Newcombe and many more ,I wish I had listened more but what has stuck with me is they all done different thing but all done things the simple way ! After coming back from Blackpool where there were 14 stalls selling different tonics of some kind how did it get like this , this will be my 4th year flying on my own and am learning by my many many mistakes some of which I can't believe I make . but out of all my years in the sport/hobby I wish things were like they used to be simple and we all got on more instead of the scaremongers who are destroying our hobby , if I was a young lad today I would not touch it with a barge pole . Met some great blokes at Blackpool and had a great time with my Airdrie club mates at the st chads so it's not all bad.
