Coalburn Homing Club Otterburn 2
JohnQuinn replied to Andrew suckle's topic in South Lanarkshire Federation and Club Results
Donald must be one of the best all round fanciers in the whole of Lanarkshire if not the country. -
Yes it was a well attended evening John, and the breeder buyer raised a fair sum of cash for us to race for come Charnock Richards Yb race. Of course the difficulty is getting them that far but its a great competition in the club.
-
I'm using a different section for my Yb's this year, i don't put anything down to get it started so i scrape the droppings into a corner and turn them every day until they dry out then spread them evenly over the floor. So by the end of racing there should be a good inch or two of litter.

Pleased to report my pooler came today about 10am, thankfully no damage but he's only half the size he was when going to the race on Friday night.
-
No Probs Griz, just sorry i don't have more info for you but if i'm at the club on Monday night i know a man who will have details of Bobby's doos and i'll ask for you.
-
Yes Bobby flew in Camby up until he passed away ( last year? ). He was a great friend of my father for many many years and i think he flew in the Motherwell fc at one time too. Don't have any details of his birds i'm afraid but "Jocky" on here might be the man to fill in the blanks for you. atvb John.

Welcome back on Basics Amanda

Been flagging an hour morning and night for a week now and had 1 toss fae Lanark Racecourse, about 12/14 miles to me, though they are not the doos i will send this week as they were mostly yearlings first time in the basket, hope to have them on song for race 3 or 4 depending on the work i get into them. Separated 9 hens from their ck's about 10 days ago and its the best conditioned of they Ck's that will be going tomorrow night in the hope i get a decent time in.
-
Well i bit the bullet and went to Lanark racecourse with TheHigg and tossed 12 Cks, 1 latecomer and 1 casualty so not exactly a disaster as i had feared reading the thread. Wondering if anyone around me is losing off the loft though as i got a call from Whitburn telling me a 2yro Hen (stock) had turned up then died before the woman could get something done with it, at the same time i am missing a 2yro Ck who raced well last year but has vanished, to god knows where. The hen was in with my racers and getting flagged with them since Friday and its since then they both disappeared.

Not had a toss yet and reading this thread makes me think whether i should or not. Plan was to get them up the road tomorrow afternoon to about Tinto hill but i'm really no sure now

Lanarkshire Delegate Meeting 11/04/2012
JohnQuinn replied to HOMER49's topic in Clubs/Organisations Topics & Events
For the record, ALL birds on the Lanarkshire transporter will be liberated together. The Cumbria men asked and have been accepted to convoy their birds with us from Uttoxeter (our 6th race) and 3 longer old bird races. Also as mentioned earlier they will join us in the longest Yb race too. Any other organisations wishing to joint convoy will be accepted on a first come first served basis, as long as we can accommodate the birdage they intend to send, they will be accepted. The result of this will be a significant financial saving for ALL organisations who travel with us and it can't be a negative when so many fanciers will benefit from this. IMO, the birds of the relative organisations will benefit too, as the losses to Percy etc will be spread across the country and not condensed to one organisation at a time getting hammered as they pass through the more dangerous areas of the country. -
All week i told everyone and their granny to bet Sunnyhillboy then like a tube changed my mind at the last minute and bet Treacle each way Was a great race though but tainted by the horses who had to be destroyed, particularly the Gold Cup winner Synchronised.
-
They are beauties Brian, great shape about them and as healthy as can be. A Credit to you for parting with birds like them, i only hope i do them as much credit as you have. ATVB John.

That's the guy who promotes Ladbroke's Bet in Play on the telly. They spotted him doing the Fanzone in Italy and employed him to do the Ad's, he is brilliant

That's the first i've seen this Wullie, VERY WELL DONE

I'm hoping to improve all round this season as 2011 i was neither here nor there apart from the 3 SNFC tickets won. The rest of the season the doos and me were kinda Flat and never really got going. I will be putting my Ypres Sec winner back on the road and the plan is to have a crack at the Gold Cup race with her, if she is fortunate enough to get that far without Percy getting her!!!
-
Very pleased with the look of them Brian, will have a look at my work rota and make a time/day to get them. I will probably come for them myself one evening in the next few days if that suits you.
-
Its no Aldo this year George, ye can load doos fae 8am, maybe 7.30.
-
They had a meeting tonight Jim, it starts next Thursday with thye usual departure time of 9am. First toss is from Elsrickle and the driver will tell where they go next.
-
I'll get told on Wednesday night Alan, think that is when the driver will make arrangements with the club.
-
I'll try and find out the noo.
