Had a latebred Ck return this morning first thing. Still 2x2011 latebreds and a 2yr old hen down. One of the latebreds had last weeks race but the other was its first time out. The hen had eaten poison a couple of months ago and seemed to have recovered but i doubt looks were deceiving

Well i have been true to myself and bred far fewer than in previous years, so right now i have 18 weaned most of which are just taking off around the loft and landing again, and some who are just weaned into the section. At the end of this week i will add about 18/20 to the section and that's it for racing. Will no doubt take some late bred birds but i will curtail their numbers too this season. What i have noticed is my Yb's are leaving the nest with plenty meat on their bones, so it all augurs well for the season ahead

Glad you like the look of the Brian, i have pm'd you their breeding details which i hope you are pleased with too. Got a nice pair myself from Frank when he came to collect, 2 cracking darkies they are. Now to find out he's topping the Fed the pressure is on me to get the best out of them for him.

I'm sure it will go well Frank, my mate had it done and it changed his quality of life beyond expectation. Afterwards he said if anyone needing it and didnae want it should be clubbed aver the head and dragged in for it such was the pain relief he got from it. ATVB John.

I have had no discussions about when results would be available to the members but i know Ian Henderson got a lot of results handed to him on a Monday night in Newmains club, and that helped get results out quickly. The new Sec has to rely on postage results being sent to him, which if anyone wishes to ask Ian about he will tell you that many many times results arrived late. There are also a lot of members still using rubbers and traditional clocks so the secretary MUST have them in hand before making any result up because they can only be checked if you have the dials/paper rolls etc. Would suggest to members that over the years secretaries have quite often sent results in that were incorrect, then trying to get a hold of the club secretary to establish where the mistake has been made and to alter their club results accordingly. Despite new technology every result, Winning velocity and distance still has to be checked by the Fed secretary before the results are published. My apologies for the mis-information regards Cambuslang result last week but i had been told this on Friday night by what i thought was a reliable source, however as i know now it was wrong. Again my apology to the winner and congrats on his second win this week too.

Man Utd will/might/i hope win but like JAM i'll take the draw. Can hardly wait for tomorrow tae get it on.

I bought my own back and Jim Cullens doo, doing a wee 50/50 with Rab Cairns on Jim's doo and i think Rab will race it because he's on darkness and mine are on natural, his Yb results are usually better than mine too so the pressure is on him with this one

Andy i think it all boils down to motivation and decent birds. Everyone needs a wee bit luck but overall i think if the stock is right and motivated they will get up the road. There will NO DOUBT be a disaster of a race and then all the Told You So's will come out the woodwork, forgetting we've had at least 1 every season for the last 3 years.

I can tell you the guys around me in craigneuk have had 2 great races and going by the remarks at Newmains club they are Very happy with the racing and returns. Yesterday i had 15 yearlings who had NEVER seen a basket until Friday night and every one of them is in my loft tonight, hardly disastrous races or losses Frank. I have dropped birds racing but have lost more flagging at home than in the races

What Losses??? We've had 2 good races with almost 100% returns

Noticed that they were coming out the N/W by 12pm Davie so hope fully he/they will show up in the Morn

The results will take longer to come out now Davie due to work commitments of he SEC and the need for clubs to post their results to Stuart. (often VERY late!!) We will all realise what a great Sec we had in Ian Henderson who was retired and gave the Fed his undivided attention, but Stuart and Lynn will get on top of it the more they get into it. I "Heard" Eddie Robins tops the Fed and Josie Gillon wins the East Section, otherwise i'm in the dark.

I never give averages a thought until someone says i've a chance of winning this or that average, no way i would send pigeons just to win them though. However i do believe that the average winner is the best loft in any given year. My preference is to pick races to have my doos ready for and have a wee punt on them. usually the yearling derby and the longest fed races as well as the SNFC races.

17/20 sent, 2 of the 3 missing are NO surprise but a 2010 Dk Ch Ck still missing is a sore wan!!
