  1. Best of luck with them Frank, hope you pull off a biggy
  2. The number i got for John isn't recognised so i'm guessing its an old number, if anyone can help gonna PM me an up to date number for him, Cheers. John.
  3. I can see you feel strongly about this Gareth but there were several members asking if a move was possible because they haven't had time to get their pigeons ready for the 28th. You may well be in the majority and the dates will stay as is, but there have been enough enquiries about it so we felt the only answer was to call the delegate meeting. All i would say, and this is to all Lanarkshire Fed members, MAKE SURE your delegate represents the view of the majority of your club members and not just their own preference!! That will obviously still not please everyone but i think its the fairest solution to what is a problem for many members this year. Me personally, i don't go to the 6 young bird races and its usually the first 1 or 2 that i leave out so its of no concern to me when it starts, but i will be going to the last race regardless of when it falls.
  4. Delighted you got him back it shows he has Character about him. Though he never won you did the right thing sending him and i'm sure he will come good in the seasons ahead,
  5. We are going to enquire with the Haulier whether moving the program back is a possibility, if he can accommodate the change there will be a delegate meeting next Wednesday to decide on it. If the haulier cannot accommodate it then we will have to carry on as it is.
  6. As a member of the committee who was unable to make the meeting on this because of my work, i am very interested in seeing it myself.
  7. I'd say no Tony, the entertainment they produce means advertisers are willing to pay Huge sums to be associated with them, so if they are generating the sums involved by how they play football then imo, they are entitled to the wages they earn. If they're not getting the money Fat Cats somewhere down the line will take it.

    Chlorcarb

I have dipped my doos with Chlorcarb for years now, no Need for hot water i do mine in tepid water and they are clean in no time at all.
  13. In a word YES by far the worst year for weather i can ever remember.
  14. Aye i think i would be the same about it.
  15. From Carentan via Salsbury.
  16. In your opinion Derek do you think that bird can't stand its corner in the basket so has suffered more than your other 3 entries. Only asking because i think it is essential that doos going away to National races must be able to handle themselves in the basket or they're gonners, regardless of racing ability. jmo.
  17. I will suggest the same tomorrow night when i see the President and Secretary, problem is there are more fanciers on the Darkness these days and they have been training since May so a delay widnae suit them. Mine haven't seen the inside of a basket yet and consequently i will probably not send until the 3rd race anyway but there are others who like to go to all the races and they have to be taken onto consideration too and i doubt many men who paired up in March will have had any training either. jmo
  18. I'm sure it would have been the same Frank, i think the reduced birds per basket has made a difference. I canny actually say i've ever had doos brought back that weren't in good order and its happened a few times over the years.

    Carentan

It'll be a while yet before we know that. The clubs have to forward claims for all the Average trophies in the Fed and they won't get the claims in for weeks. I know there is a time limit on claims but canny mind how long it is
  20. Have to say my 2 entries were still in good condition despite the length of time in the basket, both have lost a little weight but otherwise they are shining. Hope everyone can say the same.
  21. Very Well Done Jock, that is a gallant bird you have there.
  22. Just a wee note to let you all know what the plans are for returning the doos. When the transporter gets to Carlisle the driver will call the Secretary and give him an approximate time for the birds to be returned to the marking station they left from, Stuart will contact the club sec's and tell them when they need to be at the club. The club sec's will inform their members when to come for their doos. The transporter will return tomorrow to pick the baskets back up. Hope this info helps. Away tae start a back shift now
  23. I would have beaten Usain Bolt and been exhausted bringing it to you

    Leaving The Maze

I don't feed maize to my young birds but my old birds are leaving the maize lying in their feeders too. I leave it until its eaten before putting any more feeding down. You might want to try them on 28g each and see if they still leave it. atb
  25. Well done to your Dad and the other fanciers to time in. Phone it in to the lib line and let every one know he has timed
