  1. Don't know this guy but his results over the last few years from the Channel have been excellent. 1241ypm is encouraging to guys like myself who are right on the limit when it comes to timing in tonight or tomorrow morn, here's hoping a good few of the birds flying around 500/550 miles can get in tonight. ATVB to you all.
  2. The race program, including start and finish dates were decided at an AGM. In order to overturn this an EGM was required with 1/3 of the membership signing up for it. To the best of my knowledge there were no signatures collected so anyone wishing to challenge a change made at the Delegates meeting would IMO have had the decision to change overturned on appeal. This is REGARDLESS of what "common sense" would dictate. Rules are Rules and they have to be followed.
  3. Would just add that on reflection, the validity of the meeting was questioned therefore a vote to Change the program WOULD have been challenged and imo the decision would have been over turned on appeal.
  4. Thankfully not a deciding vote
  5. Aye, Very well done George great effort.
  6. Had a silver Mealy hen a few years back that threw her 2nd and 3rd together, evryone was of the same opinion, send her and have a Punt too. SO I DID, she slept out and i lost ma cash, rest ma case.
  7. Canny mind when it was Derek, but there was an article in the BHW featuring all the top winners in the UNC of that particular year, every pigeon in the pics was a Blue, Blue Ch and dark. No so much as a white flight in them. I got a Beauty of a Red in a swap with a good friend of mine this year, only Red in my team. It came in the other day skinned right along the breast and the flesh was Black as coal, its ME i'm jinxed way reds
  8. Well done Lee and Kevin , looking at the velocities it seems to have been a sticky race? Also only 2 fanciers have more than one bird on the result, good competition for the honours with 21 lofts in the first 23 positions which is testament to the members and their doos.
  9. Well i've Never had any luck with Mealy or Red birds or for that matter Grizzles. The longest lasting birds have, almost without exception, been Blue Chequers or Darkies. Would have to go Back 26 years to find a good Pied bird, 1986 in fact, and even farther back for a Grizzle doo, 1975. In all my years i can't ever remember having a good Red pigeon.
  10. There will be NO VOTE to ALTER the race program, it is simply status quo or move the whole program back a week or 2, as i stated last week i am neither here nor there about it as i won't be going to every race anyway.
  11. I never put mine up in singles, neither do i ever toss them all together. 51 Yb's = 3x 17. As the program lengthen and the numbers dwindle i toss them in 6's. For all the good it does its no harming them. The idea is that every bird has to think and not just follow on, whether that is right is questionable but i get along ok
  12. Well until tonight i wasn't going but the 2 cocks i had away at Carentan are bouncing so i'll give them a toss tomorrow and send them on Wednesday night. Its a LONG WINTER and this is last chance saloon so i might as well have a go. The Forecast for the weekend is good too so we might just get a good steady race for the first time this season.
  13. CHEESE??
  14. Hi Pete, welcome to the site. Looking forward to reading your ideas on the pigeon game.

  16. Well done Yvonne, there aren't many fanciers around who've won 4 on the bounce
  17. Am no far behind you
  18. Aye i seen the second BOP in the stills, it may have been a decoy and the Osprey was going to chase it off while the other raided the nest. Taking it frame by frame i saw a white underside to the wings and now think it may well have been a Buzzard after all.
  19. I am delighted to tell you Frank that NOT ONE sectarian comment has been posted on this thread.

Wis Chisora oot the game or was it a snide get out Alan?
  23. Ypres is by far the Fairest race point on the program and it does give every bird in the race an opportunity to win 1st Open. The reasoning behind the way some races turn out is beyond me at times, in this case although the birdage was less than last year the Quality was equal to last year. Its easy to send 10/20 or more pigeons across the channel when duplicating as you only need one team to compete in 2 or 3 different organisations on the same day, but its highly unlikely that all birds in a big team are able/willing/ready to fly the channel, even when they have all been treated equally. The quality however will always come to the fore and for that reason i think there is little difference in the numbers in the first 100 Open. jmo.
  24. Well done Lindsay great flying, keep it up
  25. Well it will feel all the better when you do it Frank, chin up and positive thinking
