    Scum

Dirty swine whoever done this, i hope someone somewhere with a conscience sticks them in, Totally gutted for you Rab.
  5. When it comes right to the heart of the issue, organisers will not make rules that are detrimental to their event. Regardless of how it changed it would have an impact on entries and that devalues the show, so i doubt very much if rules will be tinkered with especially when numbers are dropping year on tear as it is. Sure you might get a good turnout once but you're either into showing or not and the guys who come along when they hear of rule changes will disappear just as quickly because they are not "into" shows. jmo

    Lanark Shu Show

Karl also won the raffle yesterday Mike, and promptly gifted the winning ticket to a young lady who i was speaking with and is relatively new to the sport. A true Gentleman in our sport. The prize is a young bird from Robert Cormack which i'm sure will be top quality, and it will be named "Guenther's Express" as agreed between Karl and Mary.
  9. The problem with "proof" Geordie is that racing fanciers get their pal the club Sec to sign a flown certificate for them. I have said this before as i know it to be true. The upsetting thing about it is that neither the fancier nor Sec even give this Cheating a second thought. I agree with Derek that in an ideal world "dipped" doos would have their own class, however i also agree with Brian that some fanciers would never admit they crossed their doos. My solution to this would be to appoint a respected racing man and showing man to weed the crosses out and place them in a separate class before judging started. This would only apply to "prestige" shows because its the prestige the fancier craves, not the finance. JMO!!!

    Nehu Show

Mind you've me to educate before you hang up your gloves Donald!!
  13. Was talking with wee Billy the day at Lanark and i wish i had known about the night, then again i would probably have been a Non Runner at the show as well!!
  14. Excellent post Demo man, i try to copy my late fathers idea's on breeding which basically means 2 yrs inbreeding followed by 2 yrs crossing out. The reason for it being a 2yr cycle was it was easier to identify where the best spread of winning genes were coming from over 2 yrs rather than annually. I don't claim this method to be better than any other but it does produce birds to win big prizes, even if its not as often as i would like !!
  15. On the contrary Andy, Good doos are Easy to break, dumplins that keep returning to their original loft haven't the brains to figure out the change.
  16. There will be a Delegates meeting on Monday 10th December @ 7pm, venue is the Beltane Bowling club premises. If any of your club members are still in possession of Fed Trophies the President would be Very Grateful if the delegate would bring them along. All club Sec's have been contacted and those who have an answer service have been left a message.
  17. 1 and 4 for me.
  18. Well done John and Eddie, if your doos won under those judges, they would win anywhere

    Ouch!

I'd like to say that's terrible doing that to a wean but a canny its as funny as hell
  20. I'll take a loan of the "Game" doo Lee, if yer no using it this year.................. It is a Beauty, the others are too!! but Game is my Fav. You'll no need to rely on luck too much with birds like that in your loft. atvb for 2013.
  21. Aye very good read Lindsay. They obviously know their dos too with they results.
  22. Would just like to thank Rab for his hospitality today, I was invited over to collect 2 latebreds he had for me, 2 cracking youngsters too that would improve just about any loft. His team of pigeons are like peas in a pod and have quality to spare, much like the man himself. Again, Thanks very much Rab and i canny wait to get over again when i have more time on my hands to look at your doos. Cheers.
  23. Just seeing this thread for the first time, i know wee Charlie well as he collects the club strays from me during the Yb season and the other loft looks very like John Paton's??? only met John this season when verifying his 1st Section Ypres hen, which i assume has lost its life with the others and he was a pleasure to meet and talk to. Totally disgusted that this type of thing happens, i really don't know how i would react but prison time would be high on my agenda if i discovered who done it. George, i have perches, hen boxes and stock birds that both John and Charlie are welcome to, i will deliver them personally and help in any way i can to get them up and running again, if they still have the will to carry on that is.
