Don't know what the ring colours are for you this year but ours are white. A pigeon in that condition could easily be a bird that did not moult properly as a Yb and has gone into an early moult as a yearling.

Hi Stuart, it will depend on what model your clock is whether you need to do it with the computer or at home. If its an older clock i am pretty certain you will need the club Sec to do it on the computer. If its the latest model you can delete and assign a new ring at home without the club laptop.

I'll second that sentiment. Terrible affliction on anyone but on a young man in his prime and at the top of his chosen career, it must be especially difficult to come to terms with. With his strength of character i'm sure he will overcome this and have a happy and long life with his family in front of him.

Well done George, handy doo right enough. Typical of Tam's doos too, when the others "don't like it up them" Tam's come to the fore, so well done Tam for parting with her. -
Best Bloodlines Family'S That You Have Had Over The Years

Hands down the best birds ever raced from my lofts, which were my Da's before me are Cattrysse, they win from all distances in all weathers. -
Had a Ck return today too Andy, wasn't as keen as you to see it but will give it a perch in the meantime as it was his first race since a single Yb race he had in 2011.

Cheers Pat, and thanks to everyone who has posted good wishes, as Sapper pointed out on an earlies thread, it comes with added responsibility, but am sure i'll get there without too much difficulty. atb John.

Yes Charlie, lessons to be learned. There will no doubt be others too but what you won't get is the officials burying our heads in the sand hoping things improve, we are pro-active and take on board all complaints/idea's/suggestions and will improve for that. Remember its our First season and we have had a lot more on top to deal with than our predecessors' had to do. Patience is a virtue but exercising it is more virtuous'. ATB John.

Well that's the first shift by with, it was all paper work and learning new referral systems, got to meet some other staff members and they're a nice bunch. Think its gonna be slow for a while and i prefer run off ma feet, but i'm sure i'll get my wish soon enough Ps. Jim i work for the Lanarkshire Association for Mental Health. Our service will now support people who are finding things particularly difficult to live/deal with. My base will be Coatbridge and my area's will be Bellshill/Coatbridge combined.

I heard Saturday that it wasn't good for George, Lanarkshire have lost a GIANT of our Fed and the Scottish fancy have lost a man who dedicated his life to our sport and his wisdom will be sorely missed. As much as it was expected i am gutted now he's gone. His knowledge, and the advice he gave me was invaluable and irreplaceable. Rest in Peace George and God Bless you.

Well done Andy, another good win. Well done Wullie Smart too, 5 in the top 10 in a club the size of Newmains is great flying
-
Cheers Derek, but i think i'll carry on regardless

As i said Derek, these are JMO's, and i am content that whilst i get Yb's "going light" on me i have never had them retain full crops of food and the only time i have smelled a sourness from their beaks its been canker (due to stress) on the Yb's that are recently weaned into the section. Andrew Deans advised me many years ago to give the Yb's half a canker Tab when weaning to prevent them taking it and i followed this for a while with some degree of success as i noticed less or no Canker at this stage. However i believe it only Masks the weakness in those ones and they will go down when put under stress in racing. I am well enough schooled on YBS to satisfy myself that i haven't had it in my lofts and as stated am content with myself and my judgement. ATVB to you mate, John.

I have watched this thread and have read Most of if not all the posts. For what its worth these are M.O.'s on pigeon husbandry. 1. I have NEVER had ybs in my lofts. 2. I don't treat birds with medication of any sort. (exception is PMV Vaccination) 3. I have treated birds in the past for Canker/Worms. 4. It made not an IOTA of difference to the performance or overall health of the birds. 5. My motive is to have birds that are immune to General disease by NATURAL selection/constitution. 6. I am VERY close to having the type of birds described above. 7. IMO the men who treat blindly and en mass there whole team when 1 (ONE!) bird is sick are ruining their own pigeon's immune system. 8. Am happy with what and how a handle my birds and am the ONLY one i need to please. 9. YOU!! are the only one who needs to be happy with the way YOUR birds are treated/untreated. 10. MOST IMPORTANTLY!! Enjoy your hobby and don't get bogged down by other fancier's IDEA'S of how YOUR birds should be treated because it's MOSTLY their best GUESS!! as to what to do with under performing/sick birds. The above is entirely JMO, and in my garden that's the only Opinion that counts. Have a great weekend and enjoy your racing.
