I was going to look for a bit of education on the dokit but you keep putting that flag up and hurting my eyes so that's me fkd keep your eyes peeled for a wee 12 footer that will give me a start and don't forget it's down to you to fill the perches :emoticon-0136-giggle: don't be telling my new partner (you know who I'm talking about)

Having been involved with pigeons and pigeon men for nearly 50 years, go for it. The frustrations, the arguments (sorry differences of opinion), BOP's, weather, questionable race controlling. It all pales into insignificance when you spot a bird folding it's wings and heading down to your loft on a Saturday. Yes we have many mountains to climb and obstacles to overcome, that's a story for another day. Again, GO FOR IT :smiling-sun: AW THE BEST

If after reading this year's racing returns you still want to take up racing pigeons then you will do fine.

As my father told me when I started "there are more disappointments than anything"

All the best.

As I said guys. I am not a new starter , more of a , just had a 4 year break type of starter.

We had a bit of success over the years in club ,fed and snfc races , held numerous positions in doo game including club basketing convenor,Vice President, President and run the marking station at fed level .

I think I used to get a thrlll even from seeing my doos coming back from a trading toss, but yes. When you see a doo that's trying heading for the loft ..it's a great feeling .

Looks like doo hut will go up before end of this month if all goes well and I will get doos shifted as soon as I can .

A post says put the work in and you will get the red card,,,,well the worst season we ever had was one of the seasons I put as much work into a young bird team as we ever had ...and it was a total disaster.

Was in the garden yesterday working...every now and again I seen wee batches of doos working away into the wind . Brings back memories........

Maybe the doo bug just never leaves you........maybe that's my problem.......

I have been in the pigeon sport since i could walk, with my father until he past away, nearly 60 years. But starting to think is it worth all the time and effort.

Too much traffic on the road, big losses in old birds, get some good birds then bad libs more lost, first race with young birds then they get young bird sickness, wife saying about time we had more holidays.

Then i pick the BHW up and think i would not mind buying some of them LOL

Good look you will need it if you are starting up again.
