Ian McKay Posted January 17, 2017 Report Posted January 17, 2017 My very favourite bird (sorry Ian) and this one I have called Fluffy as his feathers were ruffled with the wind. I caught him singing his wee heart out Marlene
andy Burgess Posted January 17, 2017 Report Posted January 17, 2017 we have a Robin that visits us , must be the fattest in Scotland . he eats all the seeds discarded by the canary & finches in the avairy . Jackson insists on calling him a "robber" not a Robin
cemetary Posted January 17, 2017 Report Posted January 17, 2017 If you have a Robin floating about your garden, its a sign that a loved one is looking down and watching you all the time, if its true is another story though. We have one here also, not scared to tuck into the grub too.

Guest johnhunter Posted January 17, 2017 Report Posted January 17, 2017 peter ,its very hard to tell the cock and hen apart
Ian McKay Posted January 17, 2017 Author Report Posted January 17, 2017 peter ,its very hard to tell the cock and hen apart In research I have done before, this is what I have found "The angle of brown on the forehead which turns into the red of the face forms a 'U'-shape in males and a 'V'-shape in females. Other than that there are no real differences" Marlene
peter pandy Posted January 17, 2017 Report Posted January 17, 2017 peter ,its very hard to tell the cock and hen apartAye John, It was only when I had the binoculars on them that they were identical in every way. I assumed that like Cock pigeons they were more rounder on the skull with Hens being slightly flatter and when they left they went in opposite directions.
