geordie1234 Posted December 5, 2016 Author Report Posted December 5, 2016 For what it's worth I don't think there is a problem with Reims and wouldn't mind going back...Just going with past history when it's a bad race it normally gets changed I do think if we stuck with Reims for a good few years it would start to show in the racing we are getting... Look at the race the SNRPC got a lot of they doos had been there before
peter pandy Posted December 5, 2016 Report Posted December 5, 2016 For what it is worth, my tuppence says if the birds are not at a race point that is conjunctive to the Cherburg Peninsula then all the French races are subjected to unacceptable returns.

Mossgiel Posted December 5, 2016 Report Posted December 5, 2016 Did they ever have bad races from Rennes,Sartilly,Averanches or Nantes?? Rennes 1997

frank-123 Posted December 5, 2016 Report Posted December 5, 2016 Ye can get a bad race frae otterburn or Shap. .......just like reims 2016Messac was a bad race too. http://forum.pigeonbasics.com/topic/47612-snfc-messac/page__st__400
dal2 Posted December 5, 2016 Report Posted December 5, 2016 Messac was a bad race too. http://forum.pigeonbasics.com/topic/47612-snfc-messac/page__st__400So it dusnae matter which way you go? We can agree on that then?
frank-123 Posted December 5, 2016 Report Posted December 5, 2016 So it dusnae matter which way you go? We can agree on that then? Correct Steven
Delboy Posted December 5, 2016 Report Posted December 5, 2016 Ypres has been the most successful race on the SNFC calendar for many years and Reims is almost on the same line, so I would go for that, or find somewhere 30 miles shorter on the same line.
dal2 Posted December 5, 2016 Report Posted December 5, 2016 What is wrong with Alencon?Nowt......that's my point
bullcock Posted December 5, 2016 Report Posted December 5, 2016 Yes, that makes sense, but we have had good racing from Alencon.
Dooheed 5 Posted December 5, 2016 Report Posted December 5, 2016 What is wrong with Alencon?Sweet FA !! Canna remember a disaster from there ?? Tough aye but if you canna handle that ye shouldn't be flying Doo's at National Level ?
Dmurray Posted December 6, 2016 Report Posted December 6, 2016 What is wrong with Alencon? Imo The gold Cup should be over 500 miles to every loft entering
geordie1234 Posted December 6, 2016 Author Report Posted December 6, 2016 (edited) No bothered where it is from just need to get a bloomin timer....this will be my 4th attempt lol Defo doing something wrong personally think I'm working to hard early on in the season but as ever I'll be trying...2017 bring it lol Edited December 6, 2016 by geordie1234
dal2 Posted December 6, 2016 Report Posted December 6, 2016 Imo The gold Cup should be over 500 miles to every loft enteringMaybe it should be made a bit easier?
geordie1234 Posted December 6, 2016 Author Report Posted December 6, 2016 Maybe it should be made a bit easier?I know off a fancier who was looking to propose Roye bt not sure if he is going ahead with it
Dmurray Posted December 6, 2016 Report Posted December 6, 2016 Maybe it should be made a bit easier? Imo is that the gold Cup isn't supposed to be easy that's what makes it all the better when you do get a time in
dal2 Posted December 6, 2016 Report Posted December 6, 2016 Imo is that the gold Cup isn't supposed to be easy that's what makes it all the better when you do get a time inLook at the entries!......look at the entries for the Longest race!.......unless something is done then these races may end up being considered ultra specialist
geordie1234 Posted December 6, 2016 Author Report Posted December 6, 2016 Look at the entries!......look at the entries for the Longest race!.......unless something is done then these races may end up being considered ultra specialistKinda agree with you... yes the Gold Cup is never going to be easy...but it needs to be made attracive to the masses...I'll be sending regardless whatever distance it is but if it was for talking sake Roye I think you would see more entries
Dmurray Posted December 6, 2016 Report Posted December 6, 2016 Look at the entries!......look at the entries for the Longest race!.......unless something is done then these races may end up being considered ultra specialist I understand that but making the race point shorter isn't the answer .Personnel I think if they upgraded there transporters instead of being in the dark ages for these races the numbers would increase
Rooster J. Cogburn Posted December 6, 2016 Report Posted December 6, 2016 I know off a fancier who was looking to propose Roye bt not sure if he is going ahead with it I doubt the Roye race will even be fi Roye next year Geo, never mind the Gold Cup
tiger Posted December 6, 2016 Report Posted December 6, 2016 Should be about 550 in central belt any shorter and borders will clean it up and the nats up together, jmo
bullcock Posted December 6, 2016 Report Posted December 6, 2016 The Gold Cup and other races 500 miles plus aren't meant to be easy, the birds that score in these races are held in the highest esteem by all of Scotland and the rest of the world, condition, health, fitness, motivation stamina, valour a great heart and mind and a good manager are what it takes to achieve this. This race is for dreamers and we all dare to dream, 550 miles into the central belt for me, roll on next season.
