ALF Posted May 18, 2016 Report Posted May 18, 2016 Started with 18 2 yr olds and they will all go this week and I would say a dozen of them are potentially gold cup pigeons for us (if we don't send them we will never know) Anyway all 18 will be our team for this weekend but our biggest question is do we repair them or keep racing them on roundabout?

dal2 Posted May 18, 2016 Report Posted May 18, 2016 ROUNDABOUT Have ye had much success frae the distance on roundabout? I normally repair always a wee bit frightened that the hen motivation could be better?
William Reid Posted May 18, 2016 Report Posted May 18, 2016 . .Never had my pigeons on roundabout system only because I don't have the time but omho this must be the future for all pigeon fanciers . Now to cut a long story short if you are on this kind of system and birds are exercising at home like a young bird team and you don't have to road train your pigeons . Then birds of prey will start to have a bigger impact on all other birds . As long as it's only pigeon on the menu peeps don't give a .*expletive removed* .

Do both just repair the doos you intend to send to the gold cup if it was me I would send them on the roundabout if they were flying well.

eastcoaster Posted May 22, 2016 Report Posted May 22, 2016 All mine stayed at home due to fed going shorter than expected , will single them up this week and they maybe go next week s race or straight to inland nat .
geordie1234 Posted May 22, 2016 Report Posted May 22, 2016 All mine home and now paired up with the rest of the doos...next race billiericay then Gold Cup
yeboah Posted May 22, 2016 Report Posted May 22, 2016 I set up what I thought was my best 2yo hens at start of season they reared one young each then have since raced with the celibate hens They have came really well with none late or missing so far :emoticon-0127-Golden girl that was 3rd section ybn then timed from Portsmouth last year has been with the leaders each week 54 that beat her by 3 minutes from Portsmouth has also been with the leaders40 and 48 have been on time also 999 was first in clock last week when four arrived together and first in clock today when arriving with her brother She was 6th and 2nd club Like Dal I also feel they will have to go again next week as not had hours on wing yet That is one down side being with leaders But my personal feeling if they ain't showing on a Saturday wasting your time expecting them to come up trumps later on Got to send your best to win but expect to lose your best trying999 Has not turned in from yesterday's Cheltenham race Gutted would sum things up
