Loft pedigree software, who uses a system to keep track of their birds on the computer?

If you do, what do you use and what do yo like or hate about the system you use.

Looking to buy a system and keen to get any feedback from any of you boys who have already used one and have experience with one.

Cheers,

I have the PLO software but not in use at the moment as I haven't had the time to install all the info on my computer yet. Hopefully I'll have it up and running before I start pairing my birds in March.

Will have a look and read about them all and see what I end up with.

Hawkeye Loft Management System. Probably the best in the world and the Pedigree print outs are superior to any I have seen.

I have the free Hawkeye lite version peter which is a good system but the text on the pedigrees is way too small.

Walter pm me some info and i will make you out a blank pedigree with your details on it

whatever you want on it---name address maybe tel numbrer --loft name

do you want just sire and dam or g sire or gg grandsire

maybe scottish flag or landmark pic on it --forth road bridge or a bottle of wiskey picture---half empty lol.

pen and paper cant beat it

I used to think that wattie, until i actually uploaded everything to the system, and within a second i can find out anything i want about my birds, how many children, granchildren and great grandchildren of particular birds are in the loft ect ect, its fantastic without having to have a cupboard full of paper work and having to scan through it, and if any birds leave the loft a pedigree is printed off readily and supplied to the new owner. I wouldnt be without one now, and the mrs is much happier theres no paper work or books lying about all over the place

I use an Excel spreadsheet I created and have been using it since 2002, every bird we have bred from then is on it which I can recall with pedigree.

All these systems are only as good as the amount of details you input into it, I used to record all club and fed performances but don't bother now.

I have the Full Hawkeye System and if I take a pedigree back to 5 generations then the text is small but easily readable, if you go back 4 generations then text is larger, and, if 3 generations its larger still, 2 generations is that big !!!!.

Just a little of what I find marvelous about the system is that if a bird is mentioned more than once on the pedigree it is highlighted in differing colours So if their were three birds mentioned then they would be highlighted in 3 different colours etc etc..The identification is superior to other pedigree systems.
