My lad sent me this video of a bird in Bellshill today. Thought at first it was a buzzard or young peregrine but not certain of the markings?

Forget this post as it isn't uploading the video :emoticon-0179-headbang:

can you give us a description , approx size ,colouring , beak shape etc ? my first thought was a Harris hawk ?

Andy I was thinking it must be an indigenous bird with the wing tags

i can understand that Bill .

Let's hope it's not a Gos Hawk emoticon-0127-lipssealed.gif, Would be bad news if they were breeding those for release

it wouldnt surprise me , i spent 20 minutes trying to educate the postmaster about the decline in bird life locally . he has a better picture of what & why now.

Buzzards, friend or foe?

No problem at all Tony, carrion feeders but might give your birds a fly if they come close
