billt Posted September 30, 2015 Report Posted September 30, 2015 To clear up your confusion, it's a male Gos Hawk, they are very bold and hunt much like the hen spar. I have them here most of the year, the hen is much larger and an even bigger nightmare, will take them in the air and fly on with them
Bobby4 Posted September 30, 2015 Report Posted September 30, 2015 To clear up your confusion, it's a male Gos Hawk, they are very bold and hunt much like the hen spar. I have them here most of the year, the hen is much larger and an even bigger nightmare, will take them in the air and fly on with them That's correct just like a large sparrowhawk
Bobby4 Posted September 30, 2015 Report Posted September 30, 2015 Male goshawks have black wings and a distinctive white eyebrow .female sparrowhawk brown wings and smaller altogether
Dooheed 5 Posted September 30, 2015 Report Posted September 30, 2015 phone would be the last thing I'd be pointing at it that's for sure ??
Bobby4 Posted September 30, 2015 Report Posted September 30, 2015 Its a hen sparrowhawk. That's upto you Jim but not for me . Have you seen a goshawk a have an plenty of sparrowhawks it's hard to scale the picture out but the next time a doo lands on the post an he takes a picture of it u would see the difference but to me looks far too big for a male sparrowhawk as they're wings are black aswell
tommy bhoys Posted September 30, 2015 Report Posted September 30, 2015 Nothing like a sparrowhawk This bird has black wings beautiful marked down front 100% Falcon Zoom picture in or go to spec savers lolbirds of prey vary in colour and this depends on the habitat they live in as a hen sparrowhawk in my area would be brown in colour but the way john says the bird flew away i would take it to be a hen sparrowhawk
William Reid Posted September 30, 2015 Report Posted September 30, 2015 phone would be the last thing I'd be pointing at it that's for sure ??.
peter pandy Posted October 1, 2015 Report Posted October 1, 2015 Definately a Sparrowhawk as the Peregrine has a distinct yellow face and a Goshawk is the size of a Buzzard.
