That must have been a hard decision to make and I appreciate your reasons as I had to make the choice myself 27yrs ago, I was going to say I hope you keep a few old favourites but then when I do a head count on mine probably not a good move, staying on site is a good move and look forward to your posts as usual smile.gif

I am the same as Les, never met Brian but seems like I know him, especially for his Good Morning Folks post in the morning, and his old guy picking is nose signature.

Brian I was out of the Doos for 30+ years didn't think I would start again, so you never know.

Hi Brian

Sorry to hear of you joining me on retirement from the sport. Hopefully you have a friend who might need a hand now and again just to keep a small interest.

It is quite difficult to start with trying to fill in the spare time. Its great getting a break from the sport and the shenanigans that go with it.

Frank

P.s Good luck with your sale.

Hell Brian, sad to hear this news, but if your hearts not in it, its not nice. I,ve enjoyed your posts and knowledge over the years, and most of all, the support that you have given me in anything i have done, or do. I wish all the best for the future, and look to catch up soon.

I would like to inform my friends here on Basics of my decision to give up the birds, after 20 years in the sport.

There are a few contributing factors that made me come to this decision, last year I planned to give up the birds but decided to give it another year, to see if i could once again get the enthusiasm and excitement I once had when around the birds. Unfortunately this has not happened. My work also has changed and makes it difficult to give the birds the attention they require.

I plan to let the non stock birds go from now, and hope to sell the stock birds later in the year once they are through the moult. My lofts will remain in situ for the foreseeable future, however all other equipment will be offered here on Basics for sale when I get time to take some photos and put them up on the site.

I still intend to be an active member here on Pigeon Basics.

I hope this now clears up any rumours that have been going around, some of which may be my fault, due to the time I have taken to come to this decision, which was not taken lightly.

Thank You

Brian Herd

Now that I have had feedback from the fanciers who bred birds I currently own, some of which the birds will be returned to as requested, I am now looking to off load the remainder of my non stock birds, I have a local fancier coming around this morning to look at some of my young cocks that have raced.

So slowly getting thereemoticon-0138-thinking.gif

Well that's the last of the racers gone nowemoticon-0138-thinking.gif thank you to everyone who pm'd regarding these birds, sorry to those I was unable to accommodate, and good luck to those who in my opinion, were fortunate enough to get some of my race team for free.
