Times and Balmedie about 4 times they are looking good:) when they are not getting trained and they are just out flying I don't see them for about an hour and a half. So I'm pretty pleased with them. William Reid Posted July 8, 2013 Report Posted July 8, 2013 none yet but dreading starting them i got slaughtered last year with percy lost 22 in 2 training tosesDo you still go with the big man Jamie that training was always first class and atb to your self and geo
geordie1234 Posted July 8, 2013 Author Report Posted July 8, 2013 First one yesterday 15 miles tossed 50 and after 5 hours I only had 16 coming back in one's and two's..........checked this morning and up too 38 hope more work in. It's not so bad getting hit like that after a few tosses but when it was there first toss I feared the absolute worse but I'm sure more will be back by close of play tonight with some invaluable bop expierence Later on that day two fanciers tossed at the same point libbing around 140 youngsters they watched percy chase them into the distance luckily the never broke up and all made it home in an hour
andy Burgess Posted July 8, 2013 Report Posted July 8, 2013 Same here, only need 10 days training before the first race so i'm not in any hurry.very true John. although mine are out for the first time in 2 weeks ,they need to range , fly together ,and trap through a sputnik not the door (as they are now) then be trained ,maybe asking a lot in 2 weeks
TheHigg Posted July 8, 2013 Report Posted July 8, 2013 were was that from geo i was at lanark loch with mine yesterday first toss about 15 mile if it is that anyway i released 38 and never seen a feather for an hour and a half then then i got five together yes five absolutely shtin myself then they dwindled in all day twos and threes with four missing when i locked up last night just in from work and the four are lying in the bath no injurys but pretty sure something has been in amongst them

geordie1234 Posted July 8, 2013 Author Report Posted July 8, 2013 i know geo just nice to know were they are mate I toss down at the pylon at the end of the car park I noticed last year they have fitted big nest boxes on it to attrack bop I would imagine but as far as I'm aware they are empty Had plenty off training from there last year with great success aswell
geordie1234 Posted July 8, 2013 Author Report Posted July 8, 2013 46/50 pleased with that 46 homed on their jack jones from first toss One has broken leg and tail out.....live to fight another day though
harry h Posted July 8, 2013 Report Posted July 8, 2013 very true John. although mine are out for the first time in 2 weeks ,they need to range , fly together ,and trap through a sputnik not the door (as they are now) then be trained ,maybe asking a lot in 2 weeks Same with mine not ranging, won't even land on loft, they all land on the grass and just walk over to the door fecking nightmare, left them out for about 4 hour on friday night and not 1 of the feckers went in the sputnik had to let them in the door again, never seen anything like it before.
andy Burgess Posted July 8, 2013 Report Posted July 8, 2013 Same with mine not ranging, won't even land on loft, they all land on the grass and just walk over to the door fecking nightmare, left them out for about 4 hour on friday night and not 1 of the feckers went in the sputnik had to let them in the door again, never seen anything like it before.have done it before Harry , in a routine ,day before trying the sputnik "half feed" only .those that didn't trap ,were locked out ,they were first in the next day .having said that , easier for me there only feet away from the back door ,different for you ?
pigeon hut Posted July 8, 2013 Report Posted July 8, 2013 only started training them last sunday with them having young bird sickness took them 5 miles.I beat them back by two minutes then one of the lads told me most of the lads in the club were up to 15 plus miles.I took a chance by taking them 15 miles to let go home in 30 minutes.but two down one reported 7 miles away went for it and the other was found in one my club mates loft not even half a mile away.one of the lads took them 20 miles away with his and all home in 40 minutes so he took them back the next day and all home in 30 minutes.I was well pleased with them so he took mine and his to 32 miles they were all home in 55 to 65 minutes i was over the moon with them as its my first year of racing young birds and training.transporter took them 42 miles and 3/4 of them home in 58 minutes and the rest home with in two hours.two days rest then back out to the 42 mile mark hope i am doing right with them.
dal2 Posted July 8, 2013 Report Posted July 8, 2013 Mine started at 7miles and after 6 tosses are at 30 so thats it for me 40/46 survived traing
Craig.G18 Posted July 8, 2013 Report Posted July 8, 2013 Only had 2 tosses from up of my hill, the doos wont batch and just flying scattered about the sky so bloody frustration.
