Good pigeons dont have to go to a market to be sold n im sure out the thousands of birds they sell every year 1 or 2 might be sum use but thats probably down to the fanciers management n not the crap they bought at market l get better birds of a local fancier n ul even get to see where the birds come from iv seen people at sales n the 1stthing they do is when they go to a pen is pick up the pedigree never mind the pigeon aslong as the ped says so hahaha

To be fair Ive bought some good stuff over the years from markets for prices you wouldnt pay at shops, obviously we are talking about pigeons though not clothes or fruit, lol, but Im sure the majority of people shopping at the Lier Market must be Belgium and surely they wouldnt buy crap, just a thought

no matter what country the fancier is from there all the same taken in by the peds which could be counterfeit i mean how many people have bought counterfeit good at markets willingly or by mistake? good birds dont need to go to market if the birds are that good there will be people at ur door waiting on them chipping out what regulations on health of birds does these markets have and is it a fool proof system? i think not

When it comes to Boats am a big Sh*t8 bag, so ferries are out of the question, however i would LOVE to go to Lier Market so how do i go about flying over. What airport would i fly into and how far is it from Lier Market??

Aye driving wouldn't be an issue, in fact may be preferable.

i will take you john

Aye but where will i end up

john -have gone over a few times both boat and tunnel and if you can get around the fear of boats i find an organised trip on a bus the best way to go-went this year with gilly again from darlington along with guys from all over even 1 scotish guy.we had organised loft visits and a belgian guy that speaks great english as a guide on all our loft visits on the friday -visit to houten show on the saturday ,lier and natural breeding station sunday.

i find the tunnel very tireing -long way john-but if you do go by car make sure you book your hotel in lier if you go houten w/end next year as they do get full.

you go to Lier for the crack, a trip with the boys, a weekend away you dont have to buy anything if you do do its your choice and if it wins its a bonus. Where else can you go at 6 in the morning see dozens of pigeons and at 6-30 eat horse steak and chps with a black pepper sauce I LOVE IT ^_^

Hi John

Google the Pride of Hull or Pride of Rotterdam they call them ferry's

but they are more like cruise ships with cars on board

These sail from Hull to Rotterdam

The Pride of York and Pride of Brugge are much smaller and

sail from Hull to Zeebrugge

Cheers
