you want to ask any South Wales fanciers what they brought back last year :emoticon-0127-lipssealed:

I know many who brought plenty home last year and did not have an issue with illness. You can buy pigeons from anywhere and bring illness into your loft just your luck. Maybe more expierenced fanciers can pick out healthy youngsters. Not saying it wasn't the market pigeons but it's the easiest option to blame them

for those that had found disease within the loft , the market was the common factor :emoticon-0127-lipssealed:

enjoy going to lier market--and yes got a blue hen in possibly 2009--if memory serves me right 23rd WDA young bird national, tend to buy from loft visits rather than off market over the last couple of years.

You should keep an eye on the bon sales you can get good birds for a lot less then you think without going to list just a hint

Keep an eye on you never mind any sales, :emoticon-0140-rofl::emoticon-0140-rofl:

if i knew someone with there birds not right they would not be going in a panier thats whats wrong nowadays to many folk putting sick and unfit birds away to races

Jamie don't want to be a smart ass but every week there will be pigeons that are on the way down or as you say not

Right but as long as you are watching your birds that's all you can do health in a pigeon is easy :animatedpigeons:

The trip I was on last year there must have been around 80 ybs brought back and there was not a single problem with any of them. Everyone flew well with them to boot. This year we are predominantly doing loft visits but will still visit the market. There are lots of vendors that I would not buy from infact a lot I wouldn't even handle. Like everything else your eyes and experience are your merchant.

Good pigeons dont have to go to a market to be sold n im sure out the thousands of birds they sell every year 1 or 2 might be sum use but thats probably down to the fanciers management n not the crap they bought at market l get better birds of a local fancier n ul even get to see where the birds come from iv seen people at sales n the 1stthing they do is when they go to a pen is pick up the pedigree never mind the pigeon aslong as the ped says so hahaha
