the doo game getting closer to the end each season, this descion each year makes it even quicker.

tam glad you have now finished your soup!!!!!!! but as a member of the same club as yourself (the social)i find part of your statement a kick in the teeth!!! i also like to think i am a fair fancier and honestly believe the route chosen is the best for the lanarkshire birds (social)you yourself yesterday stuck your hand up as is your democratic right!!!! you are now going east!!!! ;)

Wee bit of a contradiction there Andy after mumping and moaning about losing doos down the West route !!

Get ur facts right ,the 98% rule kicked in and with the prevailailing winds it sent a lot of pigeons into Ireland and for what evere reason them cannot come out of that area.

True Andy but you know loads of fanciers pigeons are not fit and healthy and like all lofts, some are not good enough and get lost and this is why your fed is having this argument every year about routes to fly. IMO anyone west of Harthill should fly West as the valleys are there for the shortest route home,(not flying the long way round) also helps to avoid clashing especially with youngsters.

Dont know where you get your info from del. but a poll on Ayrshire website shows that west is more popular , in fact over 80% of those who voted want west.

Not my place to say as I race in the NW fed but think a lot of yous are kidding yourselves on.

 

Northwest fed racing down the east this season.I know of fanciers left with less than a fifth of the old birds they started with.Heard of fanciers losing as many as 50 or 60 youngsters over the course of the 6 week YB programme.Between Witton Castle,Ripon and Wakefield a friend of mines lost 35 pigeons.

 

Don't think you will be doing your yearlings any favours next season if goiing back down the East.Do you think perhaps the old bird losses were perhaps worst than the young bird losses due to the fact they had raced down the East all their days and many couldn't handle the change in course?In hindsight would use have been better racing the old bird East and youngsters West with a view to racing an all West route next season?

Wrong post John, the reason we went west last year was because time has already told us that the east route is cr-p flying into the west, now the reason we are reverting back to the east is because too many fanciers didn't accept the demicratic decisson to go west, if they had abided by this then they would have had the good returns that the other members have had, inturn we would have more than likely be racing once again on our natural flight path into the west.

gareth in situations like this i think from now on each club in the lanarkshire fed should get a voting slip sent out to each club for members to cast there votes east or west and have each member vote to see were they want to fly from and the delegates from each club have it present at a delegates meeting then your getting a better reflection were folk want to fly from i for one could not attend the meeting because of family circumstances a lot of folk would have been the same because the vote was very close it would save all this bickering and get a true reflection were the hole of lanarshire want to be flying from

Totally agree then it would be a true vote but you would still get the babies spitting the dummy out and not supporting there Fed

Don't disagree Jamie, to late to be proposed for this years AGM. Infact because the race program comes before the AGM, then it would be season 2015 before you idea could be implemented.

Voted west at the end of the day all the members that wanted to go west should have been at the meeting,common sense tells you that the fanciers that wanted to go down the east would be well represented.

There are so many of these about now that BOP attacks can happen on any race route it's very much a case of luck either good or bad.

What we really need to consider more than any other factor is potential for clashing.

I think we will all agree that for federations located in the west the potential for clashing is minimal on a westerly route.
