The returns today have been excellent from longtown but the strong west wind pushed the pigeons to the EAST and that would explain the excellent returns from a very poor birdage for lanarkshire.

Jim the doos must have came through Moffat today, seen plenty of doos coming straight over the top of my loft today from the south /south east. The doos were a little slower than i expected but there was north in the wind and at times it was fairly strong.

Sensible debate? No wishin strong winds? No blind flew both in recent times young and old birds and found little dif?

No in Lanarkshire so no really bothered wot ye do!!

Best of luck way yer flyin wotever happens

It seems to me you are all for the west route i wish you all the very best for the future.

I dont buy that for a minute Gareth the STRONG WEST WIND pushed the doos EAST expletive remove look at he VELOCITYS in the fed I BET the MACS are well in as the first DOOS in Uddingston came from that end.

As I have said I aint bothered and have rotated between routes in the last few years and have found little dif!!!

It is not an issue wot route we fly in the Solway, the biggest sh** are the Cumbrian Hills which we have tried to avoid on the west with a bigger jump and sliding past on the east. We still have the penines in the way doon the east and the fact that percy is everywhere now and racing seems erattic from 10miles never mind 500miles it seems tae me that the route is not all to blame for P*** racing?>????

Yours must have been doon for a drink expletive remove.

I NEVER SENT ANY DOOS THIS WEEK BUT I WAS AT OUR PLACE TODAY AND EVERY DOO CAME FROM THE EAST

Well thats logical with the WEST wind .

I WOULDNAE HAVE EXPECTED ANYTHING ELSE TODAY JIM CERTAINLY DIDNAE THINK ANY DOOS WOULD HAVE CAME FROM THE WEST OF ME TODAY IN THAT WIND....

REMEMBER OUR LOFTS ARE IN A WIDE OPEN PARK AND WE GET HIT WITH THE WIND MORE THAN MOST :scotland:

I know that Alan and IMO thats why we had good returns today THE DOOS CAME UP THE EAST SIDE.

come on george as you saying the good doos lost are sitting in ayrshire because they got dragged there , get real they are in ireland if there lucky if no in the north atlantic somwhere as fish food same as lots of other doos in the strong east winds weve had :emoticon-0156-rain:

Ayrshire dos were doing 1600 that day and I think the Lanarkshire doos had a harder day for sure due to the wind (reverse today with a much stronger west wind) we were doing 858ypm and were 1st club! However, to say they were all washed into the irish channel can't be right as Ayrshire had 90% returns so at worst the Lanarkshire doos were in Ayrshire would be difficult to imagine they couldnt get home from there but it seems birds getting off line at all this season are lost.

Don't think the route is to blame at all - chopping and changing routes I believe is the WORST move of all....

listen troublemaker we are no better than anyone but come to stoneyburn and i will show u a team of pigeons that race week in week out down the west and every national so dont say east is better than west uve not got a clue imo the more u go down the west the better it gets and to be fair to the lanarkshire fed the weather and wind has played a big part on their losses

DONT THINK SO novo 10, it hasn't got any better down the west, but why are you favouring it, when we normally or should be having west winds this time of the year.

big Feds attract big feeders. our take on it is if we all go the same route with the bop about then maybe the lanarkshire will get a reprieve that day and the bop feasted on some other fed for a change if we take 6,000 young birds down near the lake district, we will get wiped out that many doos cant sneak up the road and i have more thought about saving birds than ruining birds, on a normal race day the lanarkshire gets 400 strikes per race on route for home , so why make it easy for the bop and for by, the real doo men will decide it
