yeboah Posted June 13, 2012 Report Posted June 13, 2012 Sorry I have not been updated since 19.00. Personally I have 0 from 4 and can only say they were not good enough on the day.Peter don't think good enough came into it today i fly the furthest in the solway fed 242mls gretna is approx 213 mls on a club race from cheltenham if you were not in ten minutes after the leader you would not be on the result yet i was at the clock station tonight and i clocked 6 HOURS after the winner ,the bird i clocked raced the full yb programme including the national as a yearling every race including 2 nationals marlborough and eastbourne and then today takes 11 hours from 242 miles the state he has arrived home in i cannot say he has not given his all.

peter pandy Posted June 13, 2012 Report Posted June 13, 2012 Thanks for the kind thoughts as I am experienced enough to know that they will return eventually in their own time. Having had to start again from scratch last year the birds I sent were mostly yearlings that were very lightly treated as youngsters and I will not be going down that road again. I have never before in all my years never clocked on the day in an inland race but blame no-one but myself.

I have never before in all my years never clocked on the day in an inland race but blame no-one but myself.I did not send yearlings as i lost 2 very good one's at last years marlborough so lucky choice this time have dropped a lot of yearlings this year and like yourself were birds that were not properly raced as youngsters but this has a lot to do with yb sickness doing the rounds in the transporter when the season starts, gone are the days when we could hammer them and still be left with a team .
Blue Tooner Posted June 13, 2012 Report Posted June 13, 2012 0/3 for me. .early rise i suppose.spoke to someone in the wirral area who said it has rained there all day..
tyson Posted June 13, 2012 Report Posted June 13, 2012 only 1 man I know that has full returns is ex race controller jim hannah 1/1 even beats king billy
peter pandy Posted June 13, 2012 Report Posted June 13, 2012 I did not send yearlings as i lost 2 very good one's at last years marlborough so lucky choice this time have dropped a lot of yearlings this year and like yourself were birds that were not properly raced as youngsters but this has a lot to do with yb sickness doing the rounds in the transporter when the season starts, gone are the days when we could hammer them and still be left with a team .Perhaps that is the problem with me. I changed my methods to modern ways but I will now go back to the old and trusted ways without the mollycodling of youngsters, and feeding mainly beans. At present I am feeding grub at £16.50 a bag and I know I wont get more than 4-5 Hrs racing out of them. I wonder how many fanciers have waited in vain to-day with the same thought's going through their heads. My philosophy has always been if that loft can get one so should I.
Guest stb- Posted June 13, 2012 Report Posted June 13, 2012 peter need to disagree wi you on the comet andy knows fec all. if he know fec all how come he does a lot of winning lucky doo each week . he has also got enough knowledge about national racing and helpful enough to pass some of it regardless of which fed their in.with a wee bit help and information about nat racing helped me have 1 of the best pigeons over eastbourne and ypres last year with a high velocity over the 2 races 1617.also helping me a midlothian fed member pick up our gold cup. reading the posts you can,t take it don,t give it ;D ;D ;D ;DGary there at the wynd up
