greenlands Posted December 2, 2011 Report Posted December 2, 2011 Performance and the depth of your back pocket. :emoticon-0138-thinking:
Tony C Posted December 2, 2011 Report Posted December 2, 2011 Generations of winners, location of the winning lofts and last but not least how many pigeons they sent and how many they won against.
Rooster J. Cogburn Posted December 2, 2011 Report Posted December 2, 2011 Above all-the man you are buying it from
andy Burgess Posted December 2, 2011 Report Posted December 2, 2011 when bring in new stock what do you look for ? location performance breeding or ?all the above , but when i look back , my answer is first and foremost is the fancier , the best stock i have ,has come from people i have got to know as friends ,people i trust , and who have offered me help by giving there best ,and hopefully the new stock i have will breed the same quality i have found before ,because they have come from friends who again i trust .
mac1 Posted December 2, 2011 Report Posted December 2, 2011 performance..and a genuine fancier.not the paper flyer
ALF Posted December 2, 2011 Report Posted December 2, 2011 Off genuine good fliers that you can trust
JohnQuinn Posted December 2, 2011 Report Posted December 2, 2011 I buy according to my own idea's of what will fit into my team and what handles the best. I have been successful in picking doos to do me a turn so i'll not be changing the way i choose new birds. That way i've got no one to blame but myself if they turn out to be duds, which also happens on occasion jmo

shugf2003 Posted December 3, 2011 Report Posted December 3, 2011 who ever you buy from race them out if (young birds) and see if they fit in with what your trying to do other than that a local regular winning loft
just ask me Posted December 3, 2011 Report Posted December 3, 2011 very good question scanning results is the key if you can find a loft in a bad location getting nice results also i really only buy from back garden fanciers with standard lofts i stay away from the big fancy set ups i rather see nice performances than a nice ped
OLDYELLOW Posted December 3, 2011 Report Posted December 3, 2011 Results , thats where you will find good pigeons , anyone can write a ped ask Ferdi Vandersanden :emoticon-0127-lipssealed: :emoticon-0127-lipssealed: better to buy quality rather than quantity

JohnQuinn Posted December 4, 2011 Report Posted December 4, 2011 Well i put my theories to the test today again at the Jaap Van Alpen sale. Got a 2010 Ch W/f Jan Aarden Ck and a 2011 Dk Pd Wanroy Hen for a wee cross into my own Jan Aarden doos. Think that will be my only purchases this season as i want to make the most of the doos i have at the moment who are a very young family in my lofts.
