The rest of you should go ahead without Lanarkshire. You`ll get a lot less grief

what yi mean by that then

I mean what I said. The other feds would get less problems without Lanarkshire. One look at this site during the racing season tells you that

Down in Essex we started Amals a couple of years ago and in my opinion its the best thing thats happened in years. We get more birds in these Amals than we get in our Combine races! At the moment there's 6 feds that compete in these Amals and I'd be lying if I said it run smooth from day one, the problems were and still are resolved with a mindset that these races are the future................ were in a dying sport........... we've all got to pull in the same direction.

Fed birdage has halved around these parts in the last 10 years and I'm afraid this trend is irreversible.

I put out a newsletter to all our fed members recently Steven I was pressed for space but I had intended to ask the members at the Agm about the question of some co-operation with South Lanarkshire or Cumbria and I am quite happy to meet with anyone to improve racing in the Solway as lomg as i can take advisors with me to such a meeting and as long as I can be assured of the backing of the majority I know it might seem a bit airy fairy to you but I am convinced that larger organisations and amalgamations are the way forward.

No much of an Amal if we are sectioned off??????? I fear that will happen in SNFC only tooooo soon?????

Graham - it needs to be all set up at this time of year. all of the fed committees meet and agree to put a race programme for next year to their membership. ie a proper meeting, everyone who should be there is there and concrete plans made. This season it was "i think we are going together, well...maybe if they still want to" it's not enough to guess what each other might do

The problem is people just dismiss it out of hand and then when racing comes around complain there's too small a convoy or not enough prize money etc etc

Hi baz , You call the meeting and the ballochmyle fed top table will be there, but there needs to be a compromise , i.e transporters used , convoyers and most of all race proggramme.

Cheers Kenny

The first thing is sorting a race programme that suits everybody , with lanarkshire going the old west route , Ayrshire , Ballochmyle & West Strathclyde not decided yet , and the longest races clashing with the national races which have been a big sucsess for ayrshire members in the last couple of years. If there has to be a meeting we should have it before the AGM,S so we can report back to the members.

I don't disagree that all parties should decide what the race program is to be, but it has to start somewhere and no doubt the proper procedures would be carried out in the future to enable all to decide which program is best for WOSA. Don't believe that it is guaranteed that there will be 1 inland national never mind 2, this after the poor returns from these races over the last 4 years. JMO
