lanarkshire fed had many losses at consett on saturday,

how many people are finished for season

Not quite finished, but certainly now racing a very small young bird team than I had planned to have, due to losseshttp://forum.pigeonbasics.org/public/style_emoticons/default/sad.gif

Larkhall had 17 lofts competing at Consett, 1 expect this week at Sedgefield it will 6-8 competing.

Started with 40,first one to go went to Percy just above the loft, lost another two early training when another two arrived with broken keels and one with a broken leg, suspect BOP.Training went fairly well after that loosing only another two.

One way or the other I managed to get 31 to the first race, loosing 8 which was a good result after listening to other fanciers, except one ,who was starting to annoy me.2nd race sent 23 dropped 10 with three others returning injured.Another BOP strike while training two missing one injured, left me reeling and decided that's enough. The odd one has turned in and my team now stands at 21 most been 80 mile and at the moment racing the skies like idiots.Time to keep them in and get the darkies through the moult.

Will depend on tomorrows long range forecast. In hindsight the Lanarkshire Fed would be better of having the remainder of the season from Otterburn.???

Hi

Might be all you get on Saturday, Sunday looks far better

I never got started, almost totally wiped out by sparrow hawks around the loft and Percy while out training. We had two lofts and four dove cotes and now we are just down to one loft with stock birds and a few straight tails

I have spoke to a few fanciers in the area and some are saying this is their last year

HAVE THE BOP TAKEN ALL THE WHITES YOU HAD DUNCAN WITH THE AMOUNT YOU HAD THE BOP WOULD THINK IT WAS A KFPIGEON DRIVE THROUGH SUPRISED THE HAVENT HAD YOU BEFORE THIS WITH THE AMOUNT YOU HAVE OUT BUT HOPE YOU ARRADICATE THE PROBLEM

They haven't taken all the whites but as you say it was like KFP, they emptied the four dove cotes and so many we are down to one loft, not just the hawks or Percy but the crows as well. Carol is gutted as she has seen a few of her favourites disappear, I still have my 40 stock birds but the 40 young are down to four either off the roof or in training. I still have about 16 Birmingham rollers 3 Indian fantails and 3 giant runts and about 30 homers considering we had over 200 birds at one time

We have three peregrine nests nearby now and sods law will increase that amount as they breed. Sparrow hawks seem to be endless as soon as you scare one away another appears

Two pairs are in nearby quaries and one pair is in the lomond hills and they are watched all the time

Can't understand why groups like RSPB are obsessed with percy, their diet is other birds, is it me, I just can't understand their mindset :(
