I would like the views of some of the SNFC members regarding the race programme for 2010. The SNFC committee are having a meeting soon to discuss recommendations for 2010.

Regards,

Derek Hay

Do the members feel that the dates and race points should be changed? When posting a race point or date change, please tell us your reason for it.

Will the SNFC be looking to keep Ypres on in 2010 Derek? I know it was subsidised last year but we cant rely on that happening every year or even what dropping Eastbourne and putting Ypres in it's place?

Wanstead Flats in place of Newbury (it almost made it last year)

Definately make Ypres a permanent, if it's to be the beginnings of an International race then it must become a permanent fixture ;)

what about dropping newbury for ypres and keeping eastbourne . the reason i say this is besause the north of scotland fed this year,s earleir races were blow homes our doos had no time on the wing then sent to newbury had 5 days in the crates then expected to fly 435 mile into a ne wind . the race came to quick for us this year our doos would of been better with more time on the wing jmo.

The members will decide the programme at AGM Alan but the management committee have a meeting and then put forward recommendations. Whether these carry is up to the members. I think Ypres would be recommended as a race as it has been quite successful to all sections of the National.

I would like to see the snfc drop the ypres race altogether. The distance into central scotland is around the 450 mark we already have an eastbourne race which is almost 400 miles and a newbury just over 300 miles far too many middle distance type races in my opinion that dont have the magic of the 500 plus events. If ypres was dropped there would be more doos for the 500mile races there only a certain amount of doos to go around jmo.

Thats all we are asking for m8, your opinion. What about Ypres replacing one of the inland races ?

Personally i dont think ypres should be included at all icanny get my head roundabout that distance.

Same as last year but Wanstead Flats in place of Newbury with the same flexibility with dates for the longer races for convoying options.

Call me old fashion if you want but i would like to see the snfc have one inland nat from eastbourne .The gold cup at alencon the longest race from niort and a falaise as the last one that way ithink you would get more doos at each race which would make it more worthwhile.

I would like to see the longest race to be held on the second weekend in July, could perhaps go with the big north west england clubs from Niort, a couple of plus points are there will be a bit of breathing space between races and least there will be a true longer race for everyone.

Ypres if its still on the cards to be held on a weekend on its own...... this will put to bed the conspiracies with joint race marking with the other race.

Scottih national racing was once regarded as the best of long distance racing in the UK, the racepoints are gradually becoming shorter with now 2 inland races :-/
