  2. Aye , you're right Fergie The name Rennes still send a shiver down my spine, just a pity we dont race from there now. You could ask any member of the public in Scotland that live in an area where pigeons are raced and they will be able to associate Rennes with pigeons. Burned many a barbie and sunk many a gallon on Rennes nights
  3. The mighty Gretna FC is MY local team Would never dream of supporting the Queers ;D ;D ;D

  6. Agree with your posts Sean The whole episode is a shambles, obviously plenty of people getting all hot and sweaty in the world of politics, too many lookers in. Let the guys race their pigeons.

  8. A friend of mine is trying to get in touch with a Dave Brown from Dalkeith without much success, I think he may fly in a partnership. Does anyone have a contact number, any help would be most appreciated. Thanks Chris
  9. Spoke to a couple of friends that were there, quite poorly attended I was told, not like the good old days.....

  15. The best bird in a race is the fastest and the fastest is the winner. I scrutinise national results and easily spot outstanding birds and often congratulate the owners but there is too much green cheese where many fail to recognise the winner.
  16. Never been impressed with any Haswell auctions However, Jimmy Cowan's sale will certainly be a worthwhile one to go to.
  17. We have available for sale some beautiful summer youngsters bred in the purple from our proven breeders and national winners. The main core our national winning family is the cream of the Alfons Bauwens obtained direct and from Geoff Kirkalnd's champions, these have been supplemented with a touch of Desmet Matthys and Van de Pol. Unlike many we dont sell birds just on other fanciers hard work and acheivements, we win nationals with these birds. 1st Open SNFC Newbury 260 miles 1st Open SNFC Falaise 450 miles 1st Open SNRPC Cholet 557 miles The hen pictured on the left is our phenominal national winner Jake's Princess which won 1st Open SNRPC Cholet 557 miles, only bird on the day and winner of an RPRA award, she is a Bauwens x Van De Pol. Prices start from £50 each, apply with confidence, you will not be disappointed. Send PM for further details.
  18. I beleive that those that already have ETS have their pads sealed before the first race and recorded by club officials then at the end of the campaign the seals are then checked. Is this an accepted practise, if so will we expect to see SNFC officials going round all the ETS users lofts prior to national racing. Just curious :-/
  19. Expanding a bit on Square Peg's thoughts which are perfectly valid points. The SNFC intend to use ETS next season. How will this work in terms of checking the pad seals before and after the race.
  20. One particular young hen we had in 2002 returned home 3 weeks late. She was then raced as a yearling out to 300 miles with no problems. As a 2 year old she flew well picking up club prizes then she was sent to the SNFC Falaise race and she won it From that moment on I have vowed to give late young birds every chance.
  21. Give them every chance Dave We have had some that have turned out to be real good uns out to national level.
  22. Nah , the bigger joke was at Old Trafford 2 weeks ago ;D
  23. A huge well done goes to Walker & Wilson , yet another national win for these 2 gentlemen from Eyemouth, must be number 7 now for them I think. Also a pat on the back for everyone that timed and made the result.
  24. Now you're talking Gareth, perhaps a couple of gallon more like nice to see a blue nose in the camp ;D ;D
  25. Cheers Eastcoaster but I will keep the luck for an SNRPC race next year as we never entered any into this race. Roll on June 2007 ;D
