  1. Why do we all have to race young birds on a Saturday , an idea would be to spread all the races in the UK over the week, just a thought
  2. WELL DONE JOHN ;D ;D ;D ;D
  3. Yeah , been to Jim Hannah's house before getting our SNFC winners photographed Cheers Chris
  4. Old Birds any day
  5. Where you from Pender ??
  6. The pick of the bunch of our distance winners is our 2005 SNRPC Cholet national winner , a distance of 557 miles. This 2 year old hen was raced in the local club every week , she won a 1st from 220 miles then a week later 35th National 260 miles from that point she was rested from racing for a month and she recieved an extensive amount of road work. She was the only bird timed on the day winning the national and for good measure she scooped up an RPRA award for her performance Her picture is on the left ;D
  7. Agree with Rose , I need to have a bird in my hands before I part with the pennies. However to a certain degree you have to give any advertisers a bit of slack , security is a big issue in our sport hence many are reluctant to disclose ring numbers , I dont blame them
  8. If it is Scottish based birds you are after then just study the national results over the last few seasons , the same names are at the top end.
  9. What a season Ken is having , a real top flyer and a gentleman
  10. Congratulations to the Gilmour Bros , J Williamson's doo in Aberdeen was a topper
  11. Rest in peace Jimmy , a real superstar My thoughts are with his family
  12. The reason why I posted this thread was for a bit of clarification regarding the positioning of the pads , as expected I got a couple of childish replies, no intention at all whatsoever of making this a bunfight , enough has been said in the past about ETS. We have the ETS system which was awarded to our club , it is still in the box, I want to know where it is best to put the pads and remain within the boundaries of the rules which appear to be a bit vague. What I am trying to avoid is should I decide to install the system , have a good bird from a race only for some old fart to come along and say my pad positioning is illegal. The issue of the sputnik being classed as inside the loft is truly amazing, laughable more like. Thanks for everyones thoughts, most appreciated.

    SNFC

We haven't sent any , good luck to everyone and hope returns are good
  14. Oooh touchy bunch huh So the SHU class a sputnik as being inside the loft , what a bloody joke, reckon they needs their skulls examined
  15. How many people do we know that have pads fitted in their sputniks I am sure the SHU rules clearly state that the pads must be fitted INSIDE the loft No wonder people get their backs up about ETS when it cannot be policed correctly by so called officials
  16. You'd be surprised If you aint got the tackle then forget it, there is many feeding methods but only one kind of pigeon for the long distance..... good ones ;D
  17. A question for those that use the ETS system. Where are your pads positioned
  18. Smaller birdage than I expected. Best of luck to everyone taking part
  19. For long distance racing it is more so the pigeon than management
  20. A big well done to Jim Benvie on winning the race and the yearling national as well for good measure ;D
  21. Thanks Shadow There is a few types available in the press, some cheaper than others. Where did you get yours from, I noticed Paul Smith flogging some for 75 quid
  22. Thanks for the replies The main reason behind raising the issue was to see what the thoughts were regarding the ultrasonic repellers Looks like a mutt is the answer Chris
  23. Other than the trusted asprins and high velocity ballbearings, what other measures do our members use to keep the cat away from the lofts. Do those ultrasonic devices really work or do the cats get used to them after a while. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
  24. Jim Benvie got a good un lastnight, beleive it is a yearling.
  25. Cannot see what all the big hoo haa is about , if anyone doesn't want to provide information about a bird then so be it Agree with Westwater , the guy is a real top notch national flier
