Multiple timing is all down to greed and sheer arogance , you will find the ones that bang em in are the ones that advertise year in year out and just love spouting off their club results in the advertisements.
What is to be achieved by timing in 10 / 12 birds a race , only one bird concerns me ... the winner
A few years back I entered some young birds in a golden ring race , we were lucky enough to win 1st and 2nd with quite a tidy sum , there was 4 prizes for the race , we never timed our 3rd bird when it came , it could have also won a prize , when the result was being processed there was a young school lad there and you should have saw his face light up when he found out he had won the 4th prize plus some handy pocket money , had I timed our 3rd bird he wouldn't have experienced the joy of his bird winning some money. Seeing the lad so happy was priceless, moments like these stick in my mind and knocks multiple timing.
