  1. Agree Gareth, the buzz has gone, far too many races
  2. First three in the Open are south section birds. Race won by Ewart Warwick.... by a decimal
  3. Thanks for your thoughts guys, we sent two never saw a feather, one was a 6 year old who has been over a few times and scored at Andrezel last year There is a whole loads of reasons worth putting in the pot. As mentioned the English organisations have been having it hard too this year. The state of out sport in Scotland is grim with regards to channel racing, I am not one of the greatest supporters of 'eastern' racepoints from the continent. Why not try some races from the Rennes / Nantes line for a year.... it cannot be any worse than it already is
  4. thought about that one, cheers John, all the best
  5. Not sending any, the missus goes into hospital for an operation at the end of the week, family before doos this time round. Good luck to all
  6. Again very well done to all who timed a gem, especially my wee pal Scott Irving Now the dust has settled and the back patting continues what's everyones thoughts on the race What went wrong, why did it go wrong, I am no way at all discrediting the gallant birds that made it home, far from it but in reality the race was a disasterous flop.
  7. E Warwick 9.08am D McDonald 9.18am S Irving 9.11am Plus another three.... thats the lot
  8. Very well done to each and everyone who timed in, every bird that's made it so far are real gems South section is very very close, looks like 0.1 of a yard seperating 1st and 2nd
  9. As already quoted Sartilly 1 Rennes Nantes Sartilly 2 Can anyone pleae tell me why this programme was changed to the now current regime
  10. Ooops, sorry Del.... many a fine performance from Liege
  11. Here goes No inland nationals, why on earth they appeared in the first place is beyond me. Bet our fore fathers who created the mighty SNFC are summersaulting in their graves at the pathetic emphasis on sprint races....as for Ypres, well I thought that was supposed to be a one off in 2008 Falaise Rennes Niort Falaise What was the main deciding factor in changing the overall direction of line of flight in the nationals. The Gold Cup race has been from Rennes.... La Ferte Bernard, Messac, Alencon , Reims doesn't seem to have the same stigma
  12. Well we for one will not be bothering with this race again should it appear on future SNFC race programmes, returns not that good in our area. Far too east for my own liking..... and considering it was a one off in 2008 However.... very well done to all that timed
  13. Well done Steven, had a good natter with your dad lastnight but he widnae buy me a pint How's the heid
  14. Good man Derek Think there was 12 clocked yesterday in our section, got 1 / 2
  15. A hard one alright, gonna be a long night, fridge well stocked
  16. Quite a fresh South West breeze here Good luck to all
  17. Birds up at 6:30am, light North West wind Good luck everyone
  18. Sent two When I left the marking station and into the local watering hole there was approx 80 birds in the baskets, wont be much more than that from our end. These eastern racepoints are crap
  19. About 12.35, quite a bit of the pace but happy, a bit of a pull for our 3 coming out of that convoy. Excellent convoyer is Matthew
  20. Well happy with the race, 3 / 3, great toss for them
  21. Heard of a bird in Dunbar at 12.01 We've got 1 / 3 so far
  22. Quite right Frank. The SNFC Gold Cup was the once regarded be all and end all, nothing else mattered. The main subject in the pub after marking tonight was the 7000+ birdage in the 70's Only today a guy at my work with no doo connections at all asked if it was Rennes soon, everyone in Scotland associates Rennes with pigeons, when I tell people names such as Reims, Messac, Alencon, La Ferte Bernard etc they look bewildered. Far too many SNFC nowdays with less fanciers and diluted birdages, who the hell invented inland nationals..... and yes I am a past winner of one !!! As Bigda says...... a tranny van beckons.... sad but very true
  23. Sent 4, approx 180 from South Section, will be lucky if there is 1100 in total convoy, quite pathetic really. Far too many races in the SNFC, in particular these stupid inland nationals, what value do they serve other than potential money earners.
  24. Still undecided as to send or not, more to life than inland nationals Plenty channel races to pick from soon
  25. Very well done to everyone who has timed up near the front. Rooting for a West Section winner
