  1. No excuses, best team won, simple as that
  2. We did....... 2 SNFC wins before we joined the SNRPC Can think of others too
  3. As a Solway Fed member I am well chuffed with your work Walter, well done mate
  4. There has been a marking station provided in the fine little village of Eastriggs
  5. And your problem is.....
  6. What a load of panic and tripe about Marlborough. Have raced there for years with no problems, 100% returns last season If it's good enough for the Cumbrian boys it's good enough for me
  7. Hope your right Frank, you'll be at the top of the invite list, gotta look after our own first
  8. As always plenty being said after a meeting, the talking should have been during the AGM. Well chuffed with Marlborough, we'll probably be racing from Marlborough 2 weeks before the SNFC race Delighted with Messac, our wee village has a great record from there
  9. Wont be at the AGM tomorrow Behave boys
  10. Steven, I asked a question a few pages back on this thread on what the returns were like from Liege in 2001,still haven't had a response, having spoken to a couple of fanciers who sent to this race they said is was a disaster Having a good spread of section birds in the open result is one, having high losses is another. Why the hell anyone wants to race from Belgium beggars beyond belief
  11. There is a new liberation site at Rennes.... the Mecca of Scottish national racing. Whether or not it get proposed at Saturday's AGM is another matter.
  12. Thanks for the info regarding the reasons of rejecting Rennes by the SNFC membership. The first one beggars beyond belief, Easterly racepoints only suit one part of the country, take a peek at the 2010 Ypres result and this will prove this . The second one about distance travelled by the transporter in France prompted a 5 minute nose on Google maps. Calais to Liege - 185 miles Calais to Reims - 168 miles Calais to Rennes - 330 miles Hardly a difference of 6 hours extra travelling to Rennes. Of course St Malo which is a port connected by a ferry from Portsmouth is possible. St Malo to Rennes - 43 miles Yes only 43 miles by road from the ferry port to Rennes, hardly an hour on the road.
  13. Nothing wrong with Rennes mate, the Gold Cup race has lost it's value since they left this magical racepoint. About time they were back there
  14. You got my vote too Andy
  15. Exactly mate, good post
  16. Looks like no one on here can remember what returns were like from Liege. Having spoken to local fanciers they tell me two things, returns in the south were poor from Liege and secondly they are against this racepoint.....
  17. We never sent any either Steven so I have very little recollection of how it went and who timed what, there was a cracker timed in Annan and also Kirkintilloch Danny, I am more than aware of the measurements etc, just after a response on how the returns were in 2001
  18. Getting back to the topic of Liege. When the SNFC had a race from Liege in 2001 what was the race like in terms of returns
  19. John Hodgson of E Hodgson & Son fame Have yet to meet another guy like him, simply phenominal, his SNFC record is second to none
  20. Having followed this thread with interest, I had a dabble on Google Maps. Below is a rough guide of the milage we are talking, very interesting comparisons. ........ Reims Liege Alencon Rennes Annan 502 475 475 480 Eyemouth 524 480 522 536 Edinburgh 551 514 537 545 Dundee 577 534 570 580 Aberdeen 601 547 609 625 Peterhead 618 575 632 649 Kirkintilloch 574 542 549 551 Hamilton 563 532 537 539 I did notice that the direct straight line of flight from Liege covers over 200 miles of sea
  21. Fantastic idea mate
  22. I'm sure it was a guy from Holland
  23. Anyone recognise this poor misguided soul
  24. Keep your knickers on old man , only going by what was screened on the box, I would have expected him to show respect along each and everyone else in the stadium
