where there is money or Gain, they are crooks and those working a flanker.

Yes, a case of agreeing to differ Walter. I, as you may know, have often had some good heated debates shall we say lol. I like to think of myself as honest and firm but fair if needs be. I certainly take on board that 'it is fine to disagree ... but not to be disagreeable'. I have had one or two, lets say gunning and waiting to pounce on me lol. Am on another couple of sites or so. Have a little dig aimed at me via a couple sometimes... Often they come back for a while under another name - so that bears a lot of merit in the belief that 'Who is speaking etc. SHOULD be up front and spout who they are ... Both banned from this site for obvious reasons. Then it quickly comes to light who they are ... Big behind the type writer like. Yet I was, like others have been, constantly took to task in some posts. Asked to explain then only to have answers ignored Yet a constant coming back to that same stupid point implying that I haven't answered such and such and such and a constantly accused with rounds of false innuendo's... Always, unbelievably, the slagging of any name mentioned. Their favourite spout being 'Ah that's what the tell you ... But...' etc. Site goes dead. I find my self copying and keeping their' hypocritical lies and what they say one day to the next. I find I had a great dossier to shoot them down with proof of the lies and deceit ... .... Then I think 'What the flippy heck are you doing Roly? Sinking down to their level of none sensible stupidity's ... which not one cares. AS for decent posters ... they aren't posting. They don't want what they are seeing aimed at them. Seen two very good newcomers torn to pieces and ridiculed... so that they no longer post. So I believe that that is why many are guests. Many wouldn't want to voice an opinion. I didn't bother to post for a few weeks. Sulking or just plain upset. Just darn annoyed and decided that when I stopped banging the head aside a wall it was much nicer. .. just couldn't do with it. One only has to look at the posts and the amount of views and replies etc. on here to know how so much better it is without the idiots spitting into the tent. One see the site that set up saying any thing goes ... well they are gone, Likewise a few others. 2 posts on board in 48 hours or more! So Walter, with the greatest respect, until sites have a proven good record, many won't chance their' arm. Who can really blame them? Are we to say 'Tough, squeak up or good bye' then? Or 'Good to have you tag along and enjoy'?

I think that a main put off regards farm feeds was / and maybe still is in some cases, the thought of rats and mice etc. piddling and crapping over the corn stored. But I believe, obviously, that things are far better and have mostly been gotten under hand. JMO.

Wheat AND Barley £4 for 25K. Tic Beans £6 : 25p. Agreed home grown on the farmland. Am looking now for a decent price of groats.

Confidence, low self esteem, afraid to show one's self up, a mite bashful that they are being viewed by great fanciers, National winners etc. to boot ... 'Rather not show ones self thought inadequacies', about sums up why many prefer not to use their' own name. Plus seen many times, indeed too many verbal abuses and threats in the past and don't want, or need any of that. Plus I think it is very unfair to presume that they are 'Hiding'! Indeed that must be a way off, and personal thought / belief for whatever reason.

I believe that the anonymity is a good thing. Will say that the Basic forum have cleaned up the numskulls etc. and run a tidy ship ... we certainly don't want to see them old days back. Ridicule and personal insults etc. was once rife. Of course many wouldn't post due to that issue, likewise many more still feel the same for whatever reason. No they have nothing to hide, OR gain, but, are just coy. Further it is after all the content and what is posted that is of an importance, not whether you know them or not.

Dafra states that they are native to the U.K. As such it is illegal to kill them ... But then again the RSPB are a law unto them selves eh!

Yep a very good and sensible post. Have used two and have dealings with Bricon ... Mark is a nice enough fellow. Came to the club to sale like ... takes time to get back to you ... I'd wager Jim / or his good wife will be there on the phone and very quick service. But above all it is on parr with any, and certainly better than most ... Believe the rings are down this year after holding the price for many...

its the same feds that get every year central midland fife and thats not fair two the rest of the feds IT SHOULD be shared out Whilst I agree with the sentiment, I believe that tenders should be sent out each year to all interested parties ... and the best option, mainly cheapest etc. discussed and chosen.

Benzing for sure. Jim first class for help and being available. Simple and very effective. All now bar one in one of my clubs ... Me too 9/10. Can't fault Jim. Comes round and does the clubs set up even here ... 300 miles or so. Unikon once bought your forgoton. No after sales or help. Unless a Mate of Knight and a National winner ... otherwise dormant. 3/10 for ... I guess for selling them lol. Only one left in the three clubs I am in. Bricon after sales not to bad with Mark Palmer 50 miles from me. Help is a long time coming sometimes ... But as he says he is so busy. 50 / 50 in the other club with Benzing now I am in. 6/10 I guess. Have dealt with the 3 and that is pretty much the same marking out of ten nigh by everyone who has seen them in action and dealt with. I got shot of the top shot my Champ Unikon after using it once. Sold it for peanuts ... Best thing I ever done.

I would have had, especially regards the trees / bushes it sloping forward instead of at the back! You won't ever see a cat sitting behind on the roof. O.K. for £20 a gutter and drain pipe into a soak away. A two foot square hole filled with gravel. Other than that it is looking good.

Of course the costs of transporting them 350 miles has deterred me from ever thinking about having anything. Other than that .... We don't have any one like him in this neck of the woods .... Have a couple that copy certain things like Stall Traps, Boxes etc .... And are dearer that any where else lol. Have a son - in - law who is a chippy. Has built made to customers designs many things superbly ... Stable's, etc. etc. But isn't interested in doing any now. Says I work 5 days - as a chippy - and week - end is for my kids ... Can't blame him as they will be up and go in no time I guess and one misses out on a lot.

Yes Walter, would be sorely missed. He pops up every so often with some goodies and many on on here as you say are either dealing with him or searching for him.

'..........right thing and show him the door or continue to support racist players. Have Celtic got a racist name then? Indeed have they been found guilty of such in the past a few time?

Frank Bristow is very honest and truthful and only too pleased to help and advise. I saw the improvement first hand both in winter and mid old birds season. Wish I could afford them lol. Mind did tell how to make do with less.

Cinnamon oil. Read it is going to be used on pre-tenderized meat as it kills E.Coli and other nasty's. Can't see my pigeons eating steaks lol...

Heard of lofts in Scotland getting Para etc. Now a case of my mate in Northampton. Has lost most, and Dafra have took charge. Loft lock down. Told him they will be back and has bought 1000 shots of Para. Seems - Like Canada, he will have to jab 3 times per year. Mind I see a 1000 shots is only £37. Club is thinking of doing all clubs birds again - as it once was - again. Personally I believe that to be the best way forward again. I used to get mine done by another club ... was cheaper then, and you know ALL birds were down as to some who reportedly just signed each others papers forms.

Yes there has been a couple of outbreaks 2-3 weeks ago.

BRIAN GROW, REUTERS Dec 4, 2014 A week after grilling hamburgers in his backyard in November 2011, business consultant Kenneth Koehler became violently ill. He suffered stomach pains, diarrhea and nausea - and rushed to the hospital emergency room in Biddeford, Maine. Days later, his doctors told him that his burger was contaminated with Salmonella Typhimurium, a strain commonly found in ground beef. But Koehler's salmonella was more dangerous than he realized. Records provided to Reuters by Koehler showed that the salmonella strain in the ground beef was resistant to nine types of antibiotics. Three of the antibiotics that didn't work were cephalosporins, including ceftriaxone, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention records. Neither Koehler, 56, nor his doctors know for certain whether ceftiofur had been administered to any of the cows whose meat was contaminated. But they knew the drugs that his salmonella strain were resisting. That's because he was among the last of 19 people from seven states sickened in the outbreak, according to Koehler and the CDC records. Based on the CDC's testing of the salmonella strain, Koehler said, his doctors already determined ceftriaxone wouldn't work. Instead, they prescribed ciprofloxacin, a powerful antibiotic in a different drug category. In humans, about 3 percent of all salmonella samples tested in 2012 by the CDC were resistant to ceftriaxone. "They went directly to cipro," Koehler said of his doctors. "To put it bluntly, this salmonella really kicked my butt." Investigators for the Maine branch of the CDC tested the leftover beef in Koehler's freezer. The tests showed the source of his salmonella was ground beef bought at a Hannaford Bros. supermarket in Saco, Maine. Hannaford declined to comment. Koehler was fortunate. He was treated and released the same day. Eight other people with ceftriaxone-resistant salmonella were hospitalized in the same outbreak, according to the CDC records. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- biotics becoming obsolete? One problem I have found in some US eateries that sell hamburgers is that the customer is often asked "How do you want your hamburger done?" Some of these eateries don't seem to understand that there is really only one SAFE way to cook hamburgers - and that is THOROUGHLY. AT home, proper cooking of hamburgers or tenderized steak means that there should not be any pink in the centre of the meat if it is cooked thoroughly. Cutting boards, utensils need to be disinfected afterward, etc.. It's all common sense, not rocket science. Re: antibiotic resistance in bacteria, for many years I've wondered if one approach could be to retire specific antibiotics from use as soon as possible when bacterial resistance begins to develop, and store these antibiotics (and/or the moulds that produced them originally) in bio-secure facilities, for years if necessary. Then, as the newer generations of antibiotics start to fail because of bacterial resistance, test these stored antibiotics to determine if they might be as effective as they were originally. Just a thought. For fanciers I'd suggest a few things: As much as possible, avoid the use of antibiotics, and other treatments in pigeons. Instead try to develop strong natural resistance whenever possible. When treatment is actually proved to be needed, use the full recommended dose for the full recommended time. Avoid the so-called preventive treatments that too many fanciers use or recommend just before the breeding and racing seasons. Why preventively treat a condition that may not even exist in your birds? This approach just knocks out the billions of protective bacteria in the digestive system. Off my soapbox now. Good wishes to all.
