You can race your young birds with the old birds in the UNC (if you want to)
-
Believe it or not Andy - I've been to the Tower Ballroom/RPRA presentation evening a few times - and it has been cold every time - though eventually 'warmed up', it is an expensive evening and there is no food put on!! (Warm Pies available in the bar area to buy - honestly!!! Just what you want wearing a posh frock and heels munching on a steak pie!!!!)
-
Afraid not Andy - they were above our budget the reds and grizzles were going for £90+ (two blue bars)
-
Are you talking about your own birds? I'd need to fork out for 2100 doses for the club if I did that ......... We need the money in from the club members before we can buy any more - and that probably won't be until the end of March (We also buy the ETS rings in bulk as well - then get the money off the members)
-
Spent a fortune - also had a shopping list from club members - so keen to get the money back for that lot !!!! And bought two yearling cocks
-
We were told by Murray Farm Care at the show - that this is the only batch that is being produced by Colombovac - and once it has gone - that is it for this year for Colombovac! We had purchased (for the club) 700 doses earlier this month - but that was just for old birds, we need the same again for young birds, so it looks like we will have to order early in order to get the order fulfilled

I haven't made any New Years resolutions for a while - I have nothing left to give up!!

Was shocked to see snow at Guisborough today - 5 miles or so from me

I got allsorts for Xmas - but what was most surprising is that I liked everything

Merry Christmas to all and for those of you with 'little ones' evidently you can track Santa tomorrow http://www.noradsanta.org/

Can be prescribed by a vet under the 'cascade' system http://www.vmd.defra.gov.uk/pdf/vmgn/vmgnote13.pdf
-
Won't be available until late 2015 - problems with production
-
There was one in Driffield a week or two ago - my other half booked a licence to hold a show through DEFRA (he books licences for our club shows and the federation shows) - and they informed him that there had been an outbreak in Driffield - but it wasn't the H1N1 variety - a lot of ducks had to be culled I think
-
That is not Colombovac I think it is made in Roumania Is it approved for use in the UK? Are you buying from within the UK?
-
I had a salmonella infection 15 years ago and was treated with ciprofloxacin - I got the infection from a kebab!! Spent 10 days in hospital - it was 5 days before they found out what was wrong and started treating me

Anything left over from the racing season is mixed together into the moulting mix and used over the following few weeks I personally wouldn't keep the race mix for the following season, but that's just me

So - thinking about pairing up a white/black grizzle cock and a red cheq pied hen Had the red cheq been paired to anything else such as a blue bar then one would expect red cheq and mealie cocks and blue bar or cheq hens What are the possible colourings with the red cheq pied and grizzle combinations (colourings and likely sexes please if poss)

Does anybody 'barter' when buying things at these shows - be it birds or other things - if something wasn't 'on offer' - I would - and do - barter, especially if there are offers on the stand, but not on the particular item you are buying I got the price down on 3 items yesterday that weren't on special offer and saved £31 (£25 on £100, £5 on £15 and £1 on £16)

Todays Birthdays Redfoxkrauths (22)
REDCHEQHEN replied to buster151's topic in Introductions & Member Messages
Happy Birthday - haven't seen him on here for a while - think he might have discovered 'girls' LOL!!! -
Put your phone number ring on the life ring leg - there is enough room, then it doesn't interfere with a race rubber
-
You might, but most will not I do not understand the genetics and got that information off the internet It's a load of gobbledegook to me It was not a reply to your own post
-
Yellow isn't really yellow - LOL!! yellows are red plus dilute. Recessive red plus dilute is recessive yellow. A yellow check is a red check plus dilute. Two reds can give you yellow daughters if the cockbird carries dilute. Two yellows will not give you any red offspring. A yellow cock to red hen will give you yellow daughters and red sons.

In the UNC the clubs buy their rings directly from the NEHU (and not the federations) payment in advance or the club doesn't get their rings!! The federations usually have federation 'gold rings' where the birds race for prize money - and are priced accordingly (maybe £5 a ring) but I think we paid 22p per ring last year with the NEHU

How Many Clubs Do You Be In Before You Settle In One For A While
REDCHEQHEN replied to andyyy's topic in Chit-Chat
Blimey - do people get a choice? Clubs have 'radiuses' or is that 'radii', In our neck of the woods they don't overlap - so the choice is err - one club If you call that a choice - or join the National Clubs - and travel miles and miles to basket your birds - no thanks!!
