  1. Well I got 20 home out of 22 - with no injuries It wasn't a brilliant race - there were 117 away in the club - and I had 4 in the first ten home So for me - it was the best race of the season !!!!!!!
  2. I would have thought so - bottom of combine were timing in from 3.17pm
  3. Birds Liberated at 8.00am this morning (As well as the UNC,(10,000 birds approx) WDA (3,000), DC (2,000) and NNA (500) - I believe there was also Barkston Ash Fed, Yorkshire Middle route combine, Great Yorkshire Amal, Hull South Road fed and the Central Scottish 3 bird club Good Luck All
  4. No word until 7.30am (There is a Belgian young bird race this morning - waiting for birds to pass so there is no clashing)
  5. Me too - xxx
  6. Worst young bird team we've ever had! Don't usually lose youngsters training - but this lot have barely been ranging around home - so have 4 missing in training so far Lost a few off the loft, and one (breeder buyer of course) with a badly broken leg (just above the ankle - bone through the skin as well )is out of action Sexes are going to be split today as we will have the room (old ones will be paired back up leaving an empty section) that usually makes a difference First young bird race is not until next week
  7. Ever since a race was killed on the wrong clock at marking for a combine race in the Up North Combine (ie someone's CURRENT race was erased....their birds just marked for the race - but no-body realised until the birds had been liberated next day) it is not allowed - and you are not allowed to send to a race either.........
  8. Horden East End HS - Secretary R Forbes 0191 587 1281
  9. UNC Eastbourne - Birds liberated at 12.20pm
  10. And next update 1.00pm (Conditions at the race point are improving....) Visibility not very good at Eastbourne looking at the weather cams
  11. Up North Combine Eastbourne Update 10.00am (not looking good - poor weather at Lib site)
  12. Started racing 32 at the start of the season - have got 26 left Eastbourne 1 - Lost 2 Lillers 1 - Lost 1 Reims 1 - Lost 3 (from 7 sent 432 miles) Didn't send to Eastbourne 2 Didn't send to Reims 2 This weekend is Eastbourne 3 - sent 25 (One returnee from Reims 1 has never recovered properly, so stays at home) Note all the losses have been combine races - where all are up together Next week is the last old bird race (Ypres)
  13. I have used Noromectin and it is quite a lot weaker than Ivormectin and Moxidectin - and is also available in more than one strength - I used the 0.08% w/v one a few years ago, but it is an oral solution - never used it on the back of the neck (would need far too many drops to be effective)
  14. Up North Combine Melton Mowbray Groups 1, 4 & 6 up at 9.25am Groups 2, 3 & 5 up at 9.50am And it's :emoticon-0156-rain: :cry-blow:
  15. UNC racing from Reims today (Friday) Then basketting tomorrow for a Sunday race from Melton Mowbray (130 miles) Still 2 more Combine races after that - Eastbourne 3 - formerly Eastbourne yearling race and Ypres on 19th July
  16. Are you lot all 'Billy no mates', I hold - someone else vaccinates
  17. Photo of said yearling - and one of my dog looking on! He was raced out to 270 miles in May (Eastbourne) and was home late on the day with his tail etc missing (had all races before then as well - about 6)
  18. When I say 'hawked' - he had a small puncture wound from tallons (as well as losing his tail)- so had a lucky escape
  19. Lovely looking blue pied cock - not eaten much this morning he's 'full of it' - hasn't been raced since beginning of May - when he came home from the race hawked - and not a feather left in his tail - tail has suddenly grown back - and he's 'bouncing', raced on roundabout - his hen has done OK while he has stayed at home - we may be able to get a training toss into him before the weekend - this weekends race is 130 miles - send him? What if we can't get a training toss in before weekend? Thoughts please
  20. As your birds have worms - you need to treat with wormer again after 8 days This wormer should not be used during the moult (as it has an adverse effect on the flights)
  21. Birds were slower than expected in the UNC - 1st UNC Eastbourne today was doing 1202ypm (for 268 miles)
  22. The French coast was OK - This was Fontenay a few hundred miles away
  23. 2 turtle doves and a partridge in a pear tree Couldn't help myself sorry....! But yes Kirky - Belge, Dutch and French liberated in inland France - into hailstones, rain and thunder Returns to East and West Flanders: Chris Debacker - Beveren-Leie: 0/24 Rik Cools-Ruiselede: 0/70 Rino Verheye-Aalbeke: 0/59 Luc De Laere-Anzegem: 1/30 Paul Volckaert-Ooigem: 3/60 The Neve Marnick - Aalter: 2/56 Philippe Grymonpréz-Kuurne: 1/16 Luc Gheyssens-Harelbeke: 0/15 Pierre-Ameye Deerlijk: 0/25 Ignace Slots-Waregem: 0/31 Georges Soenens-Beveren: 0/30 Etienne Devos - Deerlijk: 3/39 Joseph Laevens - Deerlijk: 4/26 Linda De Suter Pittem: 0/80 Bataille - Vichte: 0/21 Anthony Maes-Waregem: 0/16 Verhaest Antoon - Roeselare: 0/24 Vanwallegem Marc-Roeselare: 0/14 Reyntjens Bernard - Roeselare: 0/27
  24. Evidently a race from Fontenay (this used to be a UNC Racepoint) a distance of only 240 - 250 miles was liberated yesterday morning - and the first bird timed in wasn't until this morning (Belge race)
  25. I've a few of them - they're always 'going over'
