Had a great if very tiring morning at Stubbs Camp Hawick where both transporters liberated there pigeons. I went out at 5pm last night to pickup all the race marked pigeons in the lower half of Ayrshire, was great to meet some more members of the fed and say Hello. With over 3400 pigeons some had to be transported to the lib site by the trailer which I got the job of driving. Not knowing the layout of the camp we went up to the top of the hill the road was awful and we turned back and parked up on some hard standing we found among the gorse. Spotted the Almond Valley transporter down the hill a bit so I went down to say Good morning, and it was a fine morning for liberating pigeons. I took some pictures of the area and video of the liberation's ( movie maker I am not :-) Almond valley went up at 7am and cleared no problem, Ayrshire went up at 7.30am and other than them breaking into smaller groups they cleared no problem, ok one batch of about 100 hung around for a wee while but they soon decided to shake a tail feather and head for home. Thanks to the driver of the AV transporter for helping me on the trailer :-) can't remember your name but always great to have some help and much appreciated. I think I've added a picture of each tansporter this morning

We have a report from a non fancier in Oban with an IHU N pigeon, he did contact the numbers we gave him for the union but he was more or less told where to go. Not very nice. After giving it a night to rest and feed he took it 6 miles from his home and let it go. It was back home before him he is unable to keep the pigeon so if there is anyone near that can help out let me know and I'll pass his contact details on to you.

John Clegg who passed away today Thursday 7th June 2012 John became a member of Kilwinning Homing Society in 1947 and raced his pigeons in Ayrshire Federation. Although in recent years John's health didn't allow him to visit and sit in the loft as often as he would have liked he still enjoyed watching his pigeons flying round the loft, training and racing up until 3 weeks ago using an ets clock to time and with the help of his son Sam who was there at every turn to care for the pigeons and ensure they were in tip top condition for the race. Another true pigeon fancier who with his passing has left us with sadness in our hearts but memories never to be forgotten. Rest In Peace John from Jim and Joan Savage Abbeyton Lofts x

Racing is certainly underway. Just replied to 26 emails and 14 telephone calls from members of the public reporting pigeons they have found. Hopefully they will follow the instructions given and the pigeons will get back home safe. At present there are 12 people on our website and all are on the lost and found page so no doubt more emails to come this evening. Will start doing a weekly list of dead pigeons reported to the relevant Unions etc as well. Getting to be to many to report individually.

I know the work that goes into creating and maintaining sites and forums, and you all do a great job. It was just a suggestion, we could have provided a link that opened in PB thereby not taking the user out of your site. I'll just cut and paste the fed result each week and post that Joan ps Thanks for replying Fifer

Rather than posting fed and club results individually for Ayrshire fed can we just put a link to the results page on the website which is updated with results as they come in, full club results are also available on the site for the clubs that email the fed secretary.
