    ets set wanted???

Jim drops by pb now and again, you can contact him via the homing pigeons website. http://www.homingpigeons.co.uk/
  2. Thanks for letting us know Andy, good to hear of another getting home safe, even if it is by road.
  3. Appreciated Andy, I've sent you a PM with contact details for the finders.
  4. Most folk go to the search engines and type in "homing pigeons" our site happens to be called Homing Pigeons. This week alone we have had 25 birds reported to us. We try to help where we can especially non fanciers who don't always find them during office hours and we tend to be contactable 24/7. Not the first time I've gone locally to collect strays from people who aren't sure about handling / caring for the birds. I'll check in the morning for the missing number. ps. Andy if you would be able to help these folk out and take the bird off there hands I think that would be a great help. (sorry don't know how big Wrexham is)
  5. Found by non fancier in Wrexham GB09X2072. They will report it in the morning to RPRA. Contact number available. Please pm.
  6. Contact Shirley Davies "Honeymist Bedlington Terriers" http://www.honeymist.com/ in Kilmarnock. All her breeding stock are tested. She has some really nice terriers with great temperaments that fit into any situation. My brother had one called "Shredder" and she was a real sweetheart.
  7. We bought BENZING G2 "pocket sized clock" and liked what we saw, decided to become agents for them in the UK.

    Benzing G2

Hi, Can't comment on Unikon pricing. Would seem to me though that the £249 price is £51 less than the offered £300. Also depends if you are doing a like for like comparison. If you need any other info on Benzing products feel free to contact Jim on 07799640711 or vist the homing pigeons website.

    Benzing G2

Mick £198 was price put on the G2 by Benzing which ended at Blackpol show 2010. The £249 price is part of a special package deal being done by Homing Pigeons, this deal ends 25th April 2010. Prices there after will go to £450 for the same package which is Benzing's recommended retail price If you have any questions feel free to contact http://homingpigeons.co.uk

    hawks on the t.v

The programme we are discussing was made to show predators and part of that was showing how they have / are adapting to living in the changing world. Pigeons only made an appearance as a food source for the perigrine. You could try approaching your club/federation or the RPRA to enquire if they can on behalf of the fancy look into making a programme about keeping pigeons. They might find a production company who will take it on.

    hawks on the t.v

Got to admit I have never condsidered the racing pigeons as "pets". I have had favourites over the years who haven't come home from the racing and the why is anybodys guess. And we have lost pigeons to the BOP same as every other fancier, doesn't mean I can't appreciate a well made progamme about predators be they land sea or airbourne.

    hawks on the t.v

For anyone who didn't see the programme it is available here on bbc iplayer. http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00rfh1s/Inside_the_Perfect_Predator/ Got to say I thought it was a fantastic piece of wildlife filming. Didn't see any pets being torn to bits, did see cute seals a baby gnu, some kind of gazelle and what may have been etiher ferral or pet pigeon being caught and eaten. Fasinating insight to how the makers percieve the bodies of the top predators work while hunting. The bit a the end on the Future showed how the perigrine has adapted to live in towns and city's next to humans and how it is not possbile for the others to do so but have to survive in there ever shrinking worlds.
  13. Ditto, great programme. Phoned my friend in Yorkshire to see if she was watching LOL she has a tv in the barn while she has her sleeves rolled up helping her hubby with the lambing
  14. We have ets and our 2010 rings from the SHU don't have the "lugs" for the ets chip. Wer'e quite happy having a 2nd ring on the opposite leg.

    Wee Terrier.

Check the price of your required meds online from a reputable chemist. You can save money getting a prescription form your vet who will charge for writing it. Don't be tempted to give your dog medicines sold for human or other livestock use, they are not all the same. http://www.VetScriptions.co.uk http://www.petmeds.co.uk/ Most medications used long term do require regular check ups on your dog. The vet does have to check for any changes needed in the dosage being given and that the meds are not causing any sideffects. It's never easy when they get ill and near their lifes end and it is never easy to have them put to sleep, but it is your decision and not the vets when the time is right, your vet can only advise and some of the younger/newer vets don't like facing or making that decison for you. Hope your wee terrier continues to enjoy her walks for a while yet.

Link for Homing Pigeons in Ayrshire http://www.homingpigeons.co.uk/ Hope this helps
  17. Try contacting the EBT club http://www.thebullterrierclub.com/ they may have names of breeders in your area who have pups available / due.
  18. LOL of course you can teach an old dog, I have just rescued a Pomeranian who will be 11 years old in June and she has learned to be clean in the house in two weeks. ;D Thankfully I got the wee Pom and not the Akita to clean up after LOL

    Buzzards

Anyone had them sitting on or near there lofts? I always go into the garden to check gates etc in the morning before I let the dogs out. This morning there was a Buzzard sat on top of our garage, quite scruffy looking but flew away when I approached it, or should I say scrabbled along the garage till it took off. Quite used to seeing them flying high overhead as there are a few nesting pairs in the local area but never seen them sitting in the town before and definetly not at 6 am. As we have small dogs and have had BOP try and lift one before, albeit a puppy had to wait for it to clear just in case. Hopefully it's a one off visit.
  20. Done, good luck
  21. Have you tried your dogs breeder? They may have a waiting list for people who are looking for a well mannered, trained Akita. That way the home checks should already be done and the fact that it is there own breeding will ensure they only have the best intentions for her. She does look lovely by the way.
  22. This one legged pigeon took over the care of these 3 baby rabbits when they were attacked by a dog.
  23. All thawed out in my part of Ayrshire anyway. Got the loft gutted and the dogs garden cleaned up as well. Snow hides a lot of muck. YEUCH ;D
  24. I'm staying at home as well, no dog sitter available. Jim has gone with the Homing Pigeons stand. Hope everyone going enjoys the show.
  25. HAPPY 3rd BIRTHDAY JACK Hope you have a great day xxx
