  1. Thanks Willow, he has been out flying round the loft and you can spot him a mile away in the sky, even when he flies out with the van reet pieds he really stands out. Already had LSH put out his old birds to bring him back to the loft the first time he strayed out of sight. First race next year will be absolutely nerve racking, if he makes it though the training. LOL
  2. Can anyone help or may even recognise the ring detail 45 AZEEM 03???? Got a call from lady in Manchester who has found this pigeon, never heard of the ring no or lettering before so assume it must be a fancy pigeon or a private ring of some kind. Bird won't take to the air when box is left open so possible injury. Any help appreciated in finding club / owner or someone willing to take the pigeon in.
  3. If it's any use we will be at Easington Workmens club from 7pm Houghton Le Springs, Tyne & Wear on 3rd September. Travelling back that night to Ayrshire. Let us know if we can help if not for these ones any others you may have then.
  4. Keep asking questions, it's how we all learn. Sent 7 with Ayrshire fed to Dunbar about 80 miles (I think).
  5. Sorry to hear about your losses to the birds, bad enough to know it happens but to find one of your own I've just sat and watched a sparrow hawk take a blackbird from next doors bird table, 50 yards from the back of our loft. Never been so glad our pigeons were all in the loft.
  6. Thanks for letting us know.
  7. Pigeon being collected and looked after by local pigeon fancier, thanks to PJC for arranging and I would like to think the owner will appreciate the help.
  8. Thanks. Much appreciated.
  9. Lot of non fanciers when they seach the internet for help go to google and put "lost racing pigeon" in the search bar and our website is one of the first to be listed. We have and are still helping people who find lost pigeons to reunite them with there owners. Well those that bother to respond. I have in the past while visiting a friend in Plymouth brought pigeons from there and delivered them to Belfast and as I travel a lot of miles the length and breadth of the UK showing my dogs I usually have one or two sometimes more pigeons in the car with me.

  11. Will get in touch and if finder isn't up to keeping it for a few days I'll pm her contact details. Thanks Redcheqhen, wasn't aware of that.
  12. Don't have actual town but will pass on owner / club secretary details.
  13. Not mine.
  14. GB 09 V 13242 Found in Oxfordshire and being looked after by non fancier.
  15. Hi, sent you a pm with contact number for Jim. He'll talk you through any problems your having setting up. Website address, contact details etc are all on the cards and flyers that folk had.
  16. Sorry to hear the rats have got to be so bad Jim. Hope you can get it sorted and go onto a better season next year. Joan
  17. ETS isn't any more expensive than manual clocks were before ets and having ets does not make your birds fly or trap faster, just takes out the human element. Location of loft shouldn't mean you can't have ets. There are fanciers in compounds who have clubbed together and bought generators for clocks and others use a battery.
  18. Message left on our guestbook, in case anyone knows the owner they can let them know. Found a skeleton of a racing pigeon on a golf course in sleaford lincolnshire ring number GB 09 Z 25677
  19. How shocking, are people so desperate for an ETS ring they would kill someone's pigeon for a ring worth at most £1.20??? some sad individuals in the world.
  20. Aggression is not breed specific nor specific to "moronic breeds", take any breed that has become popular as either the local neds "status symbol" or even through the latest disney film and you will find examples of children or adults being maimed by these dogs, and all due to the nievety or carelessness of the ownwers who don't appreciate the fact that dogs need the proper training and care.
  21. Any dog that attacks without provocation couldn't ever be trusted in the future, no matter breed of dog or age/size of victim.
  22. http://www.homingpigeons.co.uk (Jim & Joan) will be demostrating the Benzing G2 and M1 ets at Northside & District Racing Pigeon CLub, Dublin on Thursdday 13th August 7pm and Sarsfield Racing Pigeon Club, Dublin on Friday 14th August 7pm Look forward to meeting some of you there. All welcome.
  23. I would like to know more about it, without having to bend LSH ear all the time. It's a Kirkland yellow pied, was called Saffron then I found out she is a he so now called Mel. Anyway, what kind of racing are Kirkland pigeons for? sprint, middle, or distance? How do I breed the same colour? If he was to be crossed with another family/strain what would be the best to use? I know everyone has different opinions but thats ok, I'll read them all. ps. Mel was a gift and will get out to fly next week for the first time.
  24. try a webcam and ets ;D ;D and you can still read pigeonbasics
  25. ;D ;D ;D ;D don't know it very rarely gets switched on.
