A great story. I had a similar situation with a well known yb national section winner. He came to see our doo's and said some very nice things about them but I was horrified when he mentioned they had lice. I was so keen to make sure they were right I missed the basics :-( a lesson learned though and I admire him for having told me the truth. They have never had lice since and they get a good nights sleep now :-)

Getting 2 Nationals The Gither.

Why are they suspended? I assume they broke rules so in my book they deserve to be suspended. Any form of cheating should be met with life bans from racing of any sort in any union. -
Latebreds "novice Asks Old Hand"
ForestForever74 replied to andy Burgess's topic in Novices, Beginners & Young Fanciers
Bred 5 latebreds this year and like most I have never had any confidence in them, as they always seem the first to be dropped but this year they have been treated just like the yb's only starting training later but they had the same yb training programme and any late comers from yb races or those that were reported and brought home were also sent with the late breds so in the end had a team of 10 training hard and the difference in them so far has been amazing. They are all falling to bits now so they will get all the help they need with that and then put back on the road once recovered for another few weeks weather permitting. The work has definitely been put in with them and will continue to be put in and hopefully this will reap some rewards for next season. Hearing members saying that they are putting latebreds to inland nationals puzzled me but managed to figure it out ourselves. Wish I had read this post 3 years ago though. -
Panic Stations -20 points for me this week! after 3 great seasons I think my luck has finally run out. Hoping Suarez cancels out my - transfer points.

No buying in this year for us. Got some last years late breds from E & K to breed from next year :-) Local fanciers who are doing well is where people should be looking and of course price is key. Was at a recent sale when the 3 birds I did have an interest in went for £500, £300 and £240. I have expensive tastes so it would seem but not enough to buy at that price.

Ok cheers. Will have a basket full. Young cocks are looking great and will be in great nick in a couple of weeks. Looking forward to the shows this year.

Is there a limit on entry?

I would just like to add that I cant believe nobody from the media is commenting on the obvious problem between Rooney and RVP. They just don't seem to want to play together although I think its Rooney more than RVP.

He will get time at Man United but he needs to overhaul the squad. I don't think Fergie left them in the best nick to be honest. As soon as I saw the starting line up today I thought the baggies had a chance. On a side note I am delighted to have won our match against the rams today and I hear "Our Nigel" has been sacked, a Forest Legend in his own right I think they have made a mistake and to do it after losing to us tells me the sheeps owners don't have a clue. I look forward to them plummeting to the bottom 3 and relegation this year. COYR!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would like peoples thoughts and opinions on this one please. Our hen that was 7th Sec E Yb National last year broke her leg. We booked an appointment with the Vet to see if we can get it fixed. The consultation cost £15 and the Vet went on to say that this was not his expertise and that we should book an appointment with another Vet in the practice through his receptionist again at a cost of £15. Once we refused and said that we had booked the appointment with him and that we stated it was for a racing pigeon beforehand that we would not be seeking any other advice other than his. He has quoted us £200/£300 for fixing the birds leg and pointed out that it was a very nice thing for us to do. He also said he would give us painkillers for the bird but she might be on them for the rest of her life and if indeed we proceeded with getting her leg fixed there is a chance she might lose it. Cheers Andy

Goal was to get to the two SNFC Inland Nationals and we done that so job done. Over the water next year! and try and get to as many SNFC races as possible. Getting the loft right has been a big thing and we feel we have got that right now. Got more quality birds in depth than previously so all in all its been a step in the right direction. Another year of lessons learned (Maidstone holdover, mice control. natural yb's). Looking forward to the winter!

You can add Carberry to that list as well although we have some nice reds this year, gonna try and pass them off as Carberry doo's and see if that makes a difference :-)

What's Your Views On Your 2013 YB Season
ForestForever74 replied to THE FIFER's topic in Young Birds
KaKa but we know the reasons for that so its not all doom and gloom. YB season will be just an interest next season. Done some great work to the loft over the weekend to convert it into a proper OB racing loft. Still have plenty of yb's which is a plus. -
Well done city. I love to see Man U get gubbed!

Making sure the doo's stay healthy through the winter and attending shows and lots of discussion about breeding and racing next season.

My worst week in 3 years of playing this game. A shocker!

I wouldn't believe a word the UK or US government says. Until they get their houses in order and actually do the job they are supposed to do. Nobody trusts politicians these days and with very good reason and there is no limit to how low they will stoop for their own personal gain. FK the citizens and what they think after all we are just under educated monkeys who's opinion doesn't matter. R.E.V.O.L.U.T.I.O.N is whats required. Blair and Bush arrested and tried in The Hague for crimes against humanity would be a good starting point! The people of Syria will be the ones who suffer but hey who cares eh?

Its Andy lol the auld yin is in his bed dreaming of national races next year :-) and two of those doo's have bred us a couple of section prizes and an open prize in our very early career at national flying cant ask for more than that. ever!
-
I agree with what you are saying. I have to say that members on here are more than generous with offers and paying them a visit usually leads to gifted birds that you just cant buy anywhere. We have been very lucky in that respect and you learn and see things from a different angle. One member on here gifted yb from a doo that he paid £4000 for and another had me pull out a notepad and pen when he was talking, I wanted to learn from him and he took us to pigeon heaven after that aka Bob McDonald's place up north and I left with a basket of doo's! and it didn't cost a penny other than petrol money. Results don't lie but prices do!

Have you got the police involved? I hope you have.

latebreds were late tonight from training. They have been home before pops every toss before tonight and it was the winds, good toss for them though and they came all together only took them 1h 30m to do 10 miles though. Good or Bad?
