  5. Lot 7 £30 Lot 10 £20 Lot 19 £25 Lot 20 £15
  6. Loft painted. Fixed some odd jobs around the loft and garden. Interior of the loft has been reworked to turn it into a full time old bird racing loft. Stock selection process has begun and looking towards breeding plans and race plans for each individual bird. Cleaning loft everyday, feeding, watering, supplements given as per normal schedule. A whole lot of discussion will take place this winter. Of course making final arrangements for Blackpool. The winter is a good time of the year for us.

  8. The comeback starts for me today, I expect to close in on the leaders in the next few weeks.

  10. love this track and video, so cheeky.
  11. http://youtu.be/F1n4qN7Am3s I do like me some country with a twist of fresh prince of bel air! :-)
  12. Yeah I liked that information. As we have the biggest team of yearlings we have had for next year it would be wise to continue with our levels of patience. Its so easy to get caught up in wanting to compete and do well but they will be different birds as two year olds.
  13. It ends up like a drunken slug orgy, some of them are huge.
  14. I have yet to find my favourite race but I look forward to sending to the channel races next year.
  15. A bowl of beer somewhere away from the loft will attract them and do not leave any food in overnight. This will attract more than slugs.
  16. enjoyed it. no tickets though but the bottle of vodka won in the raffle will go down a treat next weekend :-)
  17. Got 8 prepped for tonights show, looking forward to it :-)
  18. This year has been all about learning to care for our birds more than ever before. We have subscribed the attitude that if we leave the birds with no human excuses then they should perform to their ability and anything that stops them is outwith our control. Here is a wee list of things we have put right this year. Racing has really taken a back seat this year because of it. Feeding Medicines Supplements Mice Slugs Loft Layout and Ventilation Roof Moss Training Basket Training Loft Cleaning regime Garden Environment Breeding Currently being doing some research into whey they eat greens in the garden and what plants my mother has in the garden and it turns out they are poisonous and can cause various symptoms if eaten. Needless to say the plants were removed and they are now given greens to play with in the loft. :-) What other things would members say are important to get right in order to have a successful team and loft? I feel like we have worked our socks off to get these things right in preparation for next season but I am sure there are other things that we have not thought of. It certainly highlights how much hard work needs to be put in and its okay starting it but id imagine maintaining it all the time will be more difficult but I guess you have to put the work in to get the rewards and even then your doo's out in the lead in a national on its way home in great time only to be taken down by BOP 10 Miles from home. What a thought. Any comments and additions to the list are welcome. Andy
  19. well done :-)
  20. Yes, absolutely.
  21. Well done :-)
  22. I quickly realised that while there are some opinions that are definitely worth hearing there are some that have their own agenda's and that's the ones you should avoid. Its all trial and error but it sure was lovely the day the prizes dropped through the door and I turned to my old man and said "crap eh, get the frames ready" but I now look back on it as something that spurred me on personally to try harder and do more. :-) Anyway this is off topic. Good luck at the shows everyone.
  23. Your only as good as your last race! You make a very valid point as there has been another visitor who said that we had nothing but crap in the loft and 3 SNFC prizes won within 6 months of that visitor tells me their opinion means nothing to me :-) Andy
  24. These stories should be used in the preservation of our sport and the protection of our birds. I would like to see those who are trying to bring us down go against that in the national press. Its a win win for us.
