Its nae hard to be fooled as you hear of sea eagles taking away lambs but i and the rest of family were taken in.

I am trying to hold of breeding to later on and just as well maybe ,white frost the day and forcast not looking good for next few weeks wind and snow ,we are bound to get snow yet .

This will be my first year racing the birds properly thats with a bit o luck with my health being the way it is but i heard of 2 lads that lost 90 young birds between them ,that doesnt lift my confidence to much but we will see, will 30-40 be enough!

I get my maize up here from a company they are called Harbro ,it is a bit dusty and some broken ears its £8 a bag and the doos snap it up no ill effects.

How many youngsters do you intend breeding this year and how many rings have you got ,I have 40 rings would like 30 young left to race.

Hi Craig i was talking to a friend who said he got 6 birds in April of last year and he said he could have raced the whole young bird prog with them so if you count back from there pairing,sitting ,rearing ,that would give you a time ,because remember the earlier you breed the more expense to keep them imo!

These type of things are world wide pylons,phone masts ,mobiles etc etc etc ,if they stop the homing ability of our doos then how are swallows, geese, terns,and more birds able to migrate back and forth year upon year flying thousands of miles in some cases to the same locations i think the problems with homing is more down to vaccinations etc .

Just was reading through the list of sales at Blackpool and saw Mr&Mrs Elliot sale and through some of their birds runs the blood of Bob MacDonald Fraserburgh ,Bob on a visit i made let me take my pick of some unrung birds he had in a section of his stock loft this was in 2013 to give me a start so i would just like to thank him for the chance of distance blood.

Didnt the Flor Engles birds sold as sprint middle distance,did they not get winners from distance ,I think i read that some where.

Who thinks that pigeon fowk who offer birds for sale on sites should have to provide DNA certificates along with birds for sale to weed out the rubbish .I think they have to free a hand ,if they are just a doo they are not worth more than say £30 ,If they say they are of special stuff they should have to prove it ,price of doos are getting out of hand IMO !!

I am not a member of SNFC yet as i have just started back in the doos again but i have watched the threads about race points and there all arguing about things being fair well i think they have it more than fair compared to the lads in the north. I thought there would have been more comments from up here than there has been.Sorry this should have been on snfc race point thread.But i agree with you on this one.

Aye i agree and a lot has to do with mam &dads having to work to keep things afloat ,the kids are draged up because the parents dont have the time to let them be kids ,in those days you could run hame for a jammie piece now they would get a locked door in a lot of cases (shame)!!
