Thats fine your getting birds from people on here i just started recently after a break and i got birds ,yougsters 6 from 1 chap 12 in total they were all from club members so when you said somebody offerd to sell you some ,i thought this was terrible speak about exploiting a situation .But i wish you luck and a Happy Newyear .

I agree more with your last post than this first one in your opinion it is a load of rubbish but as you say in the last post everthing needs to be studied and read then a person makes up thier mind, I still look for a nice bright alert eye i dont like a flat wishy washy type eye but thats not to say it means anything its just that at the back of my mind i remember what i read that is where knowledge comes from and on this basis you make up your mind ,or like me your just not 100per cent sure.

Then the only reason is its cheaper is that correct if so i would look at it myself.

Wish i could get protien peas and beans to buy here, i can get maize I would feed this before any of those so called formulated mixtures ,peas beans maize touch of barley perfect,I have a breeder mix just now nothing but small seed and a maple or two (rubbish).

I am sorry lads but when did we start keeping horses & sheep it seems to me its like useing a hammer to crack a nut whats wrong with traditional pigeon wormers ,there are plenty to pick from in BHW every week .

First question ,did any of the guys offer to give you a bird or two to get you going ,and why just sprinters I think a mixture as distance doos take longer to mature and you can bring them along with your sprinters .also buy in a batch of youngsters to subsidise your on breeding.(Cheap ones)dont get caught up in all the useless selling blarney sellers give you cheers.

I agree as regards nest material I can see already its going to be of no use in nest probably will use ordinary straw same as last year ,have not started among breeding yet.

In my opinion you wouldnt go far wrong with a book just to use as a guide especially as you are a new start then take what system you prefer.Also ask your questions thats what its all about.

Just another idea, do i believe dont know ! i do look for all signs in the eye as i did read up on it some swear by it at the end of the day its your decision .

I used aniseed oil i bought from chemist the last time i flew doos just a drop in small seeds ,just a poor mans red band.

Just started using poultry bedding it looks real good its clipped straw with a smell of pine oil ,£12 a bale never heard of rape straw being used but why not i have never seen a doo with tics yet .

Bright a blink of sun but real frosty.

I think barley great for keeping the doos ,it helps control their weight and therefore there fitness ,this year i am going to have a hopper of barley in front of them all the time so they can help themselves then top their feed with a good mixture according to what is asked of them ie training breeding racing .

Windy night with rain ,wind died down now but dull and rain or something not far away.

Bright and sunny here with a bit of frost still hanging about.

Dry and bright still chilly ,the turkey is feelin the heat though.

I know a guy that had white doos they were Camial Cardons he used to get a winner with them any one still have them.

Windy & cold and rather dull, just this minute snow flakes blowing in the wind time i fed the doos!

Quiet time at home fatherinlaw my 2 sons and one of my grand daughters will be with us on Xmas day so peacefull day.
